Baldur's Gate 3 Players Are Turning Into An Absolute Unit To Do Ridiculous Damage

Baldur's Gate 3 has been out for almost two weeks now, with players logging some impressive average play time, so it's not surprising people have already found inventive ways to break the game. The latest strategy has been dubbed "Owlbear from the top rope," taking advantage of the quirks of Crushing Flight to do over 1000 damage in a single hit, as picked up by IGN. The move appears to have been pioneered by Redditor Fishbleb, who noted in a post that "apparently Crushing Flight scales with mass." The accompanying video shows their character stacking an Enlarge spell on top of Owlbear wildshape, before using Crushing Flight from a high vantage point. Because Crushing Flight takes both height and weight into account (in this case 5005kg from 22.5m), the combination deals a whopping total of 1170 bludgeoning damage. Baldur's Gate 3 Patch With 1,000+ Fixes And Changes Is Coming

Larian Studios has already released multiple "hotfixes" for Baldur's Gate 3 that have addressed more than 650 items, but now the studio is preparing to release the game's first patch, and it sounds like a big one. Larian boss Swen Vincke said on Twitter that in addition to a fourth hotfix, the studio is planning "Patch 1," which will contain 1,000+ fixes and tweaks. Patch 2 is coming after this, and it will incorporate "some requests" made by fans so far, but Vincke did not provide any specifics. "We're all very enthused by your feedback," Vincke said. Xbox Game Pass Losing These 6 Games Very Soon

As it does each month, Microsoft removes titles from the Xbox Game Pass library. The next wave of removals has now been announced, and there are six titles headed out on August 31. As announced in an Xbox blog post, Microsoft is removing titles across console, PC, and the cloud at the end of the month. The games heading out include Black Desert, Commandos 3 - HD Remasters, Immortality, Nuclear Throne, Surgeon Simulator 2, and Tinykin. Immortality, released in 2022, was highly acclaimed, so it's a notable loss to the library. The post was swiftly deleted, however, and Microsoft has now clarified that Barrett's inclusion was a mistake, not a hint. The original post, as caught by The Gamer, featured a selection of notable video game dads from various Xbox titles -- with one exception. An image of Barrett with his daughter Marlene was placed smack bang in the middle of the collage, and while the original Final Fantasy 7 is available on Xbox, the screenshot used was from the PC and PlayStation exclusive Remake. Rainbow Six Siege Operation Heavy Mettle Will Launch New Operator And Commendation System

Rainbow Six Siege is soon launching the third season of Year 8, entitled Operation Heavy Mettle. It will introduce a new South Korean operator named Ram, a new commendation system, and a variety of tweaks to game modes and player characters. Operation Heavy Mettle is set to release on August 29. New operator Ram is an attacker with a BU-GI Auto-Breacher gadget. With her automated tank, Ram can destroy walls and floors to open up tactical advantages. A tank can smash gadgets and soft surfaces. Ram is a one-speed, three-health operator. Her loadout includes a R4C or LMG-E for the primary weapon and an MK1 or ITA12S for the secondary weapon. The season will also bring a new commendation system to Rainbow Six. It will allow players to rate each other on what it was like to play together. The system is moderated to ensure fairness. Highly commended players will also be rewarded, with a legendary Alpha Pack drop at the end of the season. Overwatch 2 has finally arrived on Steam, to less than great user reviews. Of 118,000 user reviews (a number that dwarfs other recent releases), the majority are "overwhelmingly negative," as fans take aim at how Blizzard has handled the FPS franchise since Overwatch 2's launch on Battle.net and consoles almost a year ago. That has made it the worst user-reviewed game on Steam of all time just a few days after its launch, with only around 9% of reviews being positive. Review-bombing is nothing new. That, however, isn't the full picture. As pointed out on Twitter by Daniel Ahmad, a video game analyst specializing in the Asian market, over two-thirds of the game's Steam reviews are written in Chinese, with the majority of those being negative. While many of the reviews from Chinese players sport similar complaints to those of negative reviews from the rest of the world--like Blizzard's cancellation of Overwatch 2's planned PvE Hero mode and the price of the game's microtransactions--Ahmad said the reviews also reflect larger feelings of frustration that have long gone unanswered.
