Pokemon TCG World Championship Decks Feature Cards Played By The Very Best

Pokemon TCG World Championship Decks Feature Cards Played By The Very Best

The Pokemon Trading Card Game remains incredibly popular, with new cards and bundle arriving every few months. Looking ahead to next year, there are already several product slated to launch and available to preorder. Some of the new bundles arrive in February, while the Pokemon TCG: 2023 World Championship Decks arrive a bit later on March 1 Preorders for the World Championship Decks are live now at Best Buy, and they only cost $15. The decks will launch alongside the Paldea Adventure Chest, a collector's box set that looks pretty darn cool.

Pokemon TCG: 2023 World Championship Decks

$15

The 2023 World Championship Decks are available in four different formats--Colorless Lugia, Mew's Revenge, Psychic Elegance, and Lost Box Kyogre. All four offer a "card-for-card replica of an actual title-contender's deck" from this year's Pokemon Trading Card Game World Championships. That makes this set great for newcomers and veterans alike, as newbies won't have to struggle to build a competitive deck and veterans can use them to learn how to improve their builds.

Unfortunately, Best Buy doesn't let customers pick a specific deck. Instead, the retailer will send you one of the four decks. Ordering multiple could result in duplicates, though you could always exchange it for another. Other major retailers will likely have the 2023 World Championship Decks soon. And if you like the idea of owning a deck used by the best players, you can pick up decks from previous years at Amazon for around $15 each. Preorder at Best Buy

Each bundle includes a 60-card set, 2023 World Championships booklet, pin, coin, and deck box. They also come with a playmat and poster, as well as a code card for Pokemon TCG Live. Considering each one costs just $15, that's a pretty solid offer.

If you want to snag a few additional cards, consider looking at the Pokemon TCG: Paldea Adventure Chest (which also releases March 1 and is up for preorder). It costs $50, but inside you'll find the following goodies:Continue Reading at GameSpot

Baldur's Gate 3 Won't Be On Game Pass, Dev Says There Is A "Fair Price" To Pay

Baldur's Gate 3 Won't Be On Game Pass, Dev Says There Is A "Fair Price" To Pay

Baldur's Gate 3 will not come to Game Pass, at least not anytime soon, according to Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke. Speaking to IGN, the executive said there is a "fair price to be paid" for a big game like Baldur's Gate 3, and that doesn't include Xbox's popular subscription service.

"Oh, we always said from the get-go, it wasn't going to be on Game Pass, it's not going to be on Game Pass," Vincke said. He said this after being asked outright if Microsoft offered to pay Larian to put Baldur's Gate 3 on Game Pass.

"We made a big game, so I think there's a fair price to be paid for that, and I think that that is okay," he added. "We don't charge you any microtransactions on top of it, so you get what you pay for. Upfront it's a big meaty game. So I think that should be able to exist as it is. This is what allows us to continue making other games."Continue Reading at GameSpot

Fortnite Is Fixing Those Expensive Car Prices, Refunds Coming

Fortnite Is Fixing Those Expensive Car Prices, Refunds Coming

One of the new games that launched inside Fortnite last week, Psyonix's Rocket Racing, made waves for the wrong reasons when its slate of cosmetics came with extra-steep prices--but that's about to change, because Epic is permanently adjusting the prices downward on all Rocket Racing cars.

The uncommon (green) rarity cars will now cost 1,500 V-Bucks, down from 2,500, and the rare (blue) ones are going from 4,000 V-Bucks down to 2,500. The only rare car currently in the shop, the Diesel, was technically the most expensive major cosmetic in the whole game that you could buy with V-Bucks, with 4,000 converting to about $30 or more, depending on a few factors. It's worth noting that these cars are cross-buy with Rocket League, so the pricing made more sense for those who also play that game.

For those who have already purchased one or more of these cars, you'll get a refund for the difference in price within a week, Epic says.Continue Reading at GameSpot

One of the best pro controllers is finally coming to Xbox. Victrix will release an Xbox version of its Pro BFG modular pro controller early next year. The Xbox Pro BFG edition features the standard Xbox controller's button labels, including the share, menu, and Xbox dashboard buttons, and comes in either white or black color schemes. Both models will be available for preorder at Victrix's online store (and likely other retailers) starting in January, and you can sign up to be notified when they go on sale. The controller launches in February 2024.

* Xbox Victrix Pro BFG Wireless Controller - Black -- $180

The Xbox Pro BFG ships with three main modules, including a reversible left module with a thumbstick and D-pad and two right modules--one with the standard four face buttons and thumbstick, and another with six face buttons designed for fighting games. It also comes with four interchangeable thumbsticks with varying lengths and either concave or convex tops, four thumbstick gates (which change which positions the thumbsticks can move to), and three D-pad styles. All of the components are neatly stored in a hardshell carrying case.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Marvel's Blade Concept Art Reveals Paris Under Siege From Vampires

One of the big surprises of The Game Awards last week was the reveal of an official Blade video game from Deathloop developer Arkane Lyon. And if that's not enough, you can check out some new concept art for the game from Arkane Lyon's art department, courtesy of studio co-creative and art director Sebastien Mitton.

Set in the heart of Paris, Blade is a single-player, third-person game that takes place in a quarantined section of the city. Vampires have emerged and only the Daywalker can save the city from the supernatural pain in the neck.

Critical Role's Laura Bailey Will Narrate TTRPG-Inspired Worlds Of Aria

Critical Role's Laura Bailey Will Narrate TTRPG-Inspired Worlds Of Aria

Laura Bailey (The Last of Us Part II's Abby and Critical Role's Vex'ahlia, Jester Lavorre, and Imogen Temult) has been revealed as the in-game narrator for Worlds of Aria, an upcoming TTRPG-inspired game in which you play as an entire group of adventurers attempting to save the world one dice roll at a time.

As seen in Worlds of Aria's latest trailer, Bailey takes on a role akin to Amelia Tyler's voice in Baldur's Gate 3--she narrates the action, responds to the player's choices, and adds a bit of comedic flair to the adventure. The game itself sees you making decisions from a handful of choices, the success of the outcome determined by the roll of the dice.

Each of the 10 characters specializes in a particular set of skills or abilities, increasing or decreasing your odds depending on who's taking the lead on a particular choice. Though you can play through the entire experience solo, Worlds of Aria features local and online cross-platform multiplayer for up to four players.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Lego Fortnite: Where To Get Copper

Lego Fortnite: Where To Get Copper

You've been playing Lego Fortnite for a while, and you've upgraded your crafting bench to rare quality and have unlocked all sorts of new blueprints to build. There's just one problem: most of these blueprints require new materials you don't have yet, like copper. But, fortunately for you, we're about to tell you where to find that, how to harvest it, and what to do with it once you have it.

Where to find copper in Lego Fortnite

You'll likely have to venture pretty far from your home village to get copper, because it's only found in lava caves, and lava caves are found in the desert biome. If you're looking for copper you've probably already spent some time there, but if you haven't, you should expect it to be the opposite direction from the snowy areas, as that seems to be where the desert biome spawns. It's dangerous to go alone. Take this!

As with all other caves, the entrance can be found on a large mound of rocks that's too big to mine. Go inside, and you'll see copper deposits all over the place. But you'll need two things: some form of heat resistance, because it's excessively hot in there, and a rare (blue) pickaxe because anything less won't be able to mine the copper.Continue Reading at GameSpot

There's A Lost Boys Musical Being Developed, Because Why Not?

Musical adaptations of books, television shows, and even movies are hardly anything new. Broadway is going back in time with a Back to the Future musical and it's probably only a matter of time before we get a Die Hard adaptation...oh wait. That's already a thing. So it should come as no surprise that a musical based on the 1987 cult classic vampire The Lost Boys is officially in production.

Deadline is reporting that Patrick Wilson, James Carpinello, and Marcus Chait (Million Dollar Baby) are on board to adapt with a book by Michael Arden, David Hornsby (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), and Broadway actor Chris Hoch.

Music will be by pop-rock band The Rescues with Ethan Popp (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical) serving as Music Supervisor. Continue Reading at GameSpot

Fallout 4's PS5 And Xbox Series X|S Update Delayed To 2024

Bethesda has confirmed that the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S update for Fallout 4 won't release until 2024. In a social media post, the official Fallout account thanked fans for their patience, as the update was originally due to arrive before the end of 2023.

"But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exciting return to the Commonwealth in 2024," Bethesda said.

Thank you for your patience with us as we work on the Fallout 4 next-gen update. We know you're excited, and so are we! But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exciting return to the Commonwealth in 2024. — Fallout (@Fallout) December 13, 2023

The update was announced in October 2022, at which time Bethesda said it would deliver new options that will allow players to choose between a performance mode for high frame rates or a quality mode that prioritizes 4K. Warframe Adds Cross-Save With Whispers In The Walls Story Update

Warframe Adds Cross-Save With Whispers In The Walls Story Update

Warframe's final cinematic expansion of 2023, Whispers in the Walls, brings new enemy types, a new Syndicate, the 55th Warframe, Qorvex, and the most sought-after feature players have been asking Digital Extremes to add for years: cross-platform save. Cross-platform save is now live alongside the launch of Whispers in the Walls.

In December 2022, Warframe released its cross-play functionality that allowed players from different platforms to play the decade-long live-service game with each other. Now, cross-platform save is live for eligible players, which allows Warframe players to merge their Warframe accounts to play on a variety of different platforms. Today, the first wave of players will be able to use cross-platform saves, since Digital Extremes is taking precautions not to overwhelm by opening the floodgates all at once, so it can properly verify that the feature is working as intended. Cross-platform save carries over items, weapons, and quest progression. For more details on the ins and outs of cross-save, eligibility, linking/merging accounts, protocols, and more--check out Warframe's cross-platform save page.

Today's update also releases Qorvex, the 55th Warframe. Qorvex is a burly concrete-themed Warframe able to create large enclosing walls, unleash radiation damage with fusion reactors, and evaporate enemies with its unibeam. A new weapon called the Grimoire is released alongside Qorvex. The Grimoire is able to expel eldritch energy repulsions against the all-new enemy faction, the Murmur.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight Event - How To Earn Every Free Reward

Diablo 4's first holiday event, Midwinter Blight, is here. This new event is a winter celebration taking place in the Fractured Peaks region. During the event, which is available on any world tier but is only available for seasonal characters, new blighted enemies will roam the area. Taking down these enemies will let you unlock new limited rewards, including cosmetics and a legendary aspect. The Midwinter Blight runs from December 12 to January 2, 2024. Here's everything you need to know about the Midwinter Blight and what you can earn.

How the Midwinter Blight works

The Midwinter Blight takes place exclusively in the Fractured Peaks region of Diablo 4, with the active area marked with purple on the map. During the event special blight enemies appear in the areas, along with special events. The events are not marked on the map, so you will need to explore and find them.

There are three enemies that drop special resources, which can be exchanged for Midwinter Proof, the currency used to buy items at the event shop. There are Blightfiends, which drop Blighted Fragments, Frigid Husks, which drop Lost Heirlooms, and the Red-Cloaked Horror, which drops the Red-Cloaked Trophy. These can be exchanged in Kyovashad.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Watchmen's Removal From Max Was An Accident

Watchmen's Removal From Max Was An Accident

Anger and frustration quickly set in when it seemed like Warner Bros. had removed another HBO series from Max--this time with Watchmen. But the DC show's disappearance was reportedly because of a technical glitch and ultimately a mistake on December 11.

According to Vulture, Watchmen isn't being scrubbed from Max after hearing from an HBO source. In fact, the accidental removal is supposedly being investigated. People were expectedly on edge after Watchmen appeared to be delisted, especially since 26 HBO Max shows and movies were pulled from the streaming service last year. George Clooney Talks About That Flash Cameo

George Clooney Talks About That Flash Cameo

DC's The Flash film finally hit theaters this summer with less-than-stellar reviews, all the while enveloped by reports of Ezra Miller's infamous behavior the past few years made the perfect recipe for a box office bomb. This doesn't even include the fact that James Gunn and Peter Safran announced their new slate of DC projects that reboots the entire DC Universe film slate of the past 10 years at the beginning of the year.

While the film revved interest from fans including Michael Keaton's long-awaited return as Bruce Wayne and Batman after 30 years, there was another cameo that a lot of fans didn't anticipate, or maybe even care about--George Clooney as another Bruce Wayne.

At the end of the film, Miller's Barry Allen is on the phone with Bruce Wayne after finally returning to his own Earth and timeline, or so he thinks. Wayne pulls up to the courthouse in his car and he is revealed to be played by Clooney, not the Ben Affleck version of Batman that Barry expected. Affleck's Bruce and Batman also appear in the movie, making the Batman total of three. Continue Reading at GameSpot

Saw 11 Announced, As Lionsgate Declares, "The Game Continues"

The Saw franchise will continue with an 11th mainline installment, Lionsgate has announced. Saw XI has been confirmed and will debut on September 27, 2024, the film studio announced on social media. "The game continues," Lionsgate said.

The confirmation of the next Saw movie comes not long after Saw X debuted at the end of September and was a fast success. It brought in more than $107 million against a modest budget of $13 million, so it's no surprise to see another sequel get greenlit.

Saw X director Kevin Greutert told The Hollywood Reporter that Saw X was meant to be a "final send-off" for the Jigsaw character. However, Greutert said he had a "never say never" attitude about bringing him back.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Fortnite's Three New Games Are Not Modes And Are Here To Stay, Epic Confirms

Fortnite recently added three new games--Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival--and now developer Epic has clarified for anyone unaware that these are not limited-time modes.

These are full games that are not going away, Epic said. "Fear not, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival are here to stay--with regular updates," Epic said. These games are displayed on the Fortnite home page as tiles next to Fortnite's numerous other modes, so it's understandable that some people might have thought they were in fact modes.

In another post, former Fortnite boss Donald Mustard shared an image of Epic's original plan for the game from six years ago. He said the original intent was to make Fortnite a "place" rather than a game, and now that vision has come to life, or at least the beginning stages of it.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Red Dead Redemption is one of the best western games of all time. Fortnite Adding Nintendo Characters "Makes No Sense," Former Employee Says

Epic's Fortnite platform has welcomed crossover characters from Sony and Microsoft already through Kratos, Aloy, and Master Chief, but no Nintendo characters have appeared in the game as of yet. That's not for a lack of trying, though. Epic ecosystem boss Saxs Persson told Axios that Fortnite players "would love it" if Nintendo characters came to Fortnite. A former Nintendo employee, however, believes this will never happen and that the idea "makes no sense."

Persson said, "Nintendo has their strategy and we have our strategy..." Persson said there is a "hope" that "at some point" Nintendo might agree to a deal. PSN's Most Popular Games In November 2023 Revealed, And No. 1 Is No Surprise

PSN's Most Popular Games In November 2023 Revealed, And No. 1 Is No Surprise

Not even Peter Parker and Miles Morales could stop Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 from taking the top spot on the PlayStation Store's best-selling games list for PS5 in November. But, when it comes to free-to-play titles, Fortnite still reigns supreme--even over Call of Duty: Warzone.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the only big blockbuster game released last month as well, helping to propel the FPS to No. 1. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was PSN's top-downloaded title in October and dropped to second place for November in the US and Canada. Madden NFL 24, EA Sports FC 24, and NBA 2K24 rounded out the rest of the top 5. Assassin's Creed Mirage tumbled quite a bit after debuting at No. 2 in October, as the stealth-action game found itself at No. 13 last month.

Meanwhile, Fortnite continues to be the most popular free-to-play game across PS4 and PS5 in North America and Europe. In fact, last month Fortnite broke its all-time daily player record with over 44.7 million people logged in for the launch of the OG season. Roblox and Call of Duty: Warzone came in second and third place, respectively, in both territories.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Souls-like games are more popular than ever before, and while many studios have attempted to lay hands on the bar set by From Software with its genre-defining games, only a handful of studios have come close to that summit. Team Ninja is one of those select few developers, and right now, the PS5 edition of its latest Souls-like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is on sale at Amazon.

This deal isn't for the regular edition of the game, but the fancy launch day version. This comes with an attractive steelbook collectible case to house your game disc in and two pieces of bonus DLC, the Crown of Zhurong and the Crown of Gonggong. Normally $80, it's on sale for $48.Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty steelbook edition See at Amazon

In case you missed it when it first launched in March this year, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a new action-RPG from the same studio behind the well-received Nioh games.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Epic Won't Call This Fortnite 2, But It Feels That Way To Me

Epic Won't Call This Fortnite 2, But It Feels That Way To Me

Ask someone who doesn't play Fortnite what they know about the game and they're likely to mention a few things. There are all the funny emotes; no doubt they know that part. It's got that dancing banana fella--he's pretty cool. They'll probably also call it a shooting game or, if they know the term, they'll call it a battle royale game. It's true that for six years, battle royale has been the centerpiece to Fortnite, but in that time, it's also grown as a platform, with 70% of Fortnite players now also routinely playing in Creative mode, the game's user-generated content sandbox with an ever-growing number and breadth of experiences.

But for anyone who didn't yet know Fortnite was already more than a battle royale game, this week's huge update, complete with three new games, beloved IP, and well-established studios, feels like a statement. Fortnite is changing, but its reign atop the video game world seems secure.

Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival come from Epic, Psyonix, and Harmonix, respectively, and they exist as new games found exclusively within Fortnite. After playing them myself at a press event ahead of their staggered launch dates this week, I've trained myself to not call them "modes," as any one of them would make sense as a standalone game. It's sometimes been the case where a game on another maker-game platform like Roblox gets so popular that an outside studio acquires it in a buyout. These new Fortnite releases are sort of the inverse of that. Brilliant studios have been tasked with building new games with the explicit purpose of expanding Fortnite's ecosystem.Continue Reading at GameSpot

So what's the deal with Riven, and the wishing wall, and the Dreaming City, and the Ahamkara in general? There's a lot going on here, that's for sure, and even if you've been through Forsaken's story, you might be a little lost in all this intermingling lore. Marvel Settles Lawsuit With Spider-Man Co-Creator Steve Ditko's Estate

Marvel Settles Lawsuit With Spider-Man Co-Creator Steve Ditko's Estate

Spider-Man and Doctor Strange have fought some of comic book's greatest battles, but one of the biggest fights they took part in was inside a courtroom. Now it seems the ongoing case of Spider-Man and Strange's co-creator has finally come to an end against Marvel.

Attorneys for Marvel and the estate of artist-creator-comic legend Steve Ditko notified the court that they’ve reached an amicable settlement and expect a "stipulation of dismissal with prejudice" to be filed by the end of the year, the Hollywood Reporter revealed.

This all started back in 2021 when Marvel filed a series of lawsuits in response to copyright termination notices from Larry Lieber--Stan Lee's brother--and the estates of Marvel legends such as Gene Colan, Steve Ditko, Don Heck, and Don Rico. A very long list of characters was at issue including Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, and Thor. Over the summer, most of these were resolved, except one.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Dave The Diver Getting Free Dredge Collab DLC This December

Dave The Diver Getting Free Dredge Collab DLC This December

'Tis the season to... get spooky? At least, that's how Dave the Diver is celebrating the holidays with free DLC inspired by the Lovecraftian game Dredge. The update will arrive December 15 on PC and Nintendo Switch and adds a new night map, Aberrant fish, and more to the popular adventure RPG.

The Dredge content pack for Dave the Diver was announced at The Game Awards last night, December 7. Both games focus on fishing, leading to the collaboration--though only Dave the Diver will see the crossover content (at least for now).

A fog weather event in Dave the Diver apparently kicks off the Dredge DLC. This then leads to new Dredge boat mechanics for Dave, as well as Aberrant fish to hunt and a night map. There will even be hooded figures showing up at the restaurant wanting meals made of the freshly added sea creatures.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet's New DLC Will Even Let You Fly In The Main Paldea Region

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet's New DLC Will Even Let You Fly In The Main Paldea Region

Nintendo has shared new details on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's upcoming DLC expansion, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk. Among other things, DLC's new flying mechanic will extend to the main Paldea region, while players will also be able to "synchronize" with a Pokemon to take on their form.

As we previously learned, the DLC allows players to temporarily gain the ability to fly on top of Koraidon (for Pokemon Scarlet players) or Miraidon (Violet). While this is limited at first, progressing further into the expansion will unlock this flying ability permanently, including in the main Paldea region from the base game.

The new Synchro Machine device debuting in this expansion allows players to "see the world through the eyes of their Pokemon." In the trailer, we see that the player-trainer controls Pikachu and races other Pokemon on tracks similar to Pokemon Dash. Players can obtain the Synchro Machine as soon they are finished aiding one of the scientists with her research.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Ryan Reynolds Leaks His Own Hilarious Deadpool 3 Set Photos, Including One With Urkel

Are the Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine going to face off against the Predator in Deadpool 3? No, not really, but Ryan Reynolds decided to "leak" his own set photos from the upcoming movie with hilarious cameo characters, including Urkel from Family Matters, too.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Reynolds shared a thread of "Deadpool Leaks." He, alongside Wolverine actor Hugh Jackson, look like they're engaged in a conversation with the Predator for the first edited photo. Then the duo are spotted again in an action scene with Mickey Mouse cheering on the mercenary. The best, though, is probably the long-distance shot of Urkel cutting a rug.

Deadpool began with a leak. So I’m joining in. But PLEASE don’t overuse the phrase, “Deadpool Leaks” because it might screw up search results if anyone is looking for Deadpool leaks or Deadpool spoilers or perhaps, Deadpool Scoops. #DeadpoolLeaks #DeadpoolSpoiler #DeadpoolScoop pic.twitter.com/yxZN8MslLn— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) December 7, 2023

All of this comes just a day after Reynolds asked for restraint at spoiling Deadpool 3 with the film shooting out in the real world instead of a closed digital set. "Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone. Here's hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they're ready," he said.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Watch How GTA 6 Compares To The Original Vice City And Real-World Florida

Now that the first official footage from the hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 has been released, GameSpot has compared the 2023 take on Vice City to 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in a new video. Graphical improvements aside, GTA 6 looks to be staying close to the feel of the original.

In the video, GameSpot compares some of the locations shown in the brand-new trailer to their equivalents in the old Vice City, from beaches to streetscapes, and the Vice City skyline. There's even a nightclub scene that's reminiscent of Vice City's iconic Malibu Club, and the Ocean View Hotel can be glimpsed in the background of one shot.

While the 2002 graphics can't quite compare to the modern game, Rockstar seems to have captured the feeling of the original game. Check out our side-by-side comparison below.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Natalie Portman Recalls King Charles Asking If She Was In The Original Star Wars Movies

Natalie Portman has recalled meeting Prince Charles in 1999 when she was 18, and how the member of the British royal family--who is now king--asked if she was in the original Star Wars movies.

"I was like, 'No, I'm 18!' But he was very friendly," Portman said on Watch What Happens Live, as reported by Variety.

Portman was born in 1981, which was four years after the original Star Wars movie debuted in 1977. She was cast by George Lucas as Padme Amidala for the prequel series that premiered in 1999 and spawned multiple sequels in the early 2000s.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Cillian Murphy Gives Update On Peaky Blinders Movie

Cillian Murphy has had the year of his career with Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer--the sixth time they've collaborated--and finds himself as a strong contender for any number of acting awards during the upcoming awards season. Outside of his movie work, though, he's also starred for the last decade on the TV series Peaky Blinders--a show that he recently discovered Barbie star Margot Robbie is a huge fan of.

During Vanity Fair's Actors on Actors, Murphy and Robbie interviewed each other and talked about the "Barbieheimer" phenomenon from this past summer. The two talked about marketing the films, preparing for the roles, and if Murphy was familiar with the internet culture surrounding the very memeable movies. Then Robbie talked about Peaky Blinders, which has been turned into a few games--including a VR version, and wondered about the possibility of a spin-off movie.

"There are two kinds of people in this world: There are the people who are obsessed with Peaky Blinders, and then [there are] the people who haven’t seen Peaky Blinders," Robbie said. "I obviously sit in the first category, so can we please talk about Tommy f***ing Shelby for just one minute? I mean, that was years and years of your life...is there going to be a spinoff movie?Continue Reading at GameSpot

Compared to previous Xenoblade games, the third entry is essentially a fresh start for the franchise. It's still a complex title that throws you right in the deep end when you start it, but if you can survive the sink-or-swim opening, you'll find that it's a heartfelt adventure paired with some of the best combat in the series to date.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Nintendo Switch OLED Super Smash Bros. Bundle

Ultimate also rarely receives discounts. More often than not, it sells for its list price of $60. Keep in mind the bundle includes a voucher to redeem a digital version of the game on the Switch eShop.

With an individual membership to Nintendo Switch Online thrown in, you'll have access to online multiplayer in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. You'll also get a library of classic Super Nintendo, NES, and Game Boy games with your membership. See at Best Buy

Available at Best Buy (and more retailers to come), you'll save $20 on this first-party Switch game that stars Mario's brother. See at Best Buy

Unlike the Super Mario Bros. adventures, Luigi's Mansion 3 has a spookier atmosphere that sees you guide the hero in green through haunted locations. With his trusty Poltergust--a modified vacuum cleaner that can suck up ghosts--Luigi cleans up across several colorful floors in a high-rise hotel. Even better, you can unlock his gooey doppelgƤnger Gooigi and enjoy some co-op fun along the way. There are even a few multiplayer modes on offer, but the real charm is in the game's strong single-player campaign.

"The game may not radically diverge from the series' formula, but it offers up another meticulously crafted set of challenges to overcome while smoothing out some of the issues that held Dark Moon back, and the sense of accomplishment you feel when you clear a particularly head-scratching obstacle is just as potent now as the first time Luigi unwillingly strapped a vacuum to his back and stepped into a haunted mansion.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Our God of War Ragnarok review gave the game a 9/10, praising just about everything it has to offer. Whether you’re ripping apart monsters or soaking up a cutscene, the long-awaited sequel more than lives up to expectations.

“Despite being a story about warring gods and the end of the world, the soul of the game is something far more sentimental,” wrote critic Tamoor Hussain. “For every moment of brutality, there is one of genuine and relatable emotion. How they land will vary from person to person, but there were multiple that left me with tears welling up. If nothing else, God of War Ragnarok further cements Sony Santa Monica's narrative team as one of the best in the business.”Continue Reading at GameSpot

The Marvel Cinematic Universe Is Broken, And Marvel Can Only Blame Itself

The Marvel Cinematic Universe Is Broken, And Marvel Can Only Blame Itself

The hits never stop coming for Marvel during its so-called Multiverse Saga. The Marvel Cinematic Universe juggernaut has spent nearly the entire post-Avengers: Endgame period mired in one mess or another, constantly shuffling around its release schedule and, as a result, having to seemingly rewrite, reshoot and re-edit all of its movies and shows on the fly to accommodate everything that was going on.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that's going to stop any time soon. The Marvels, basically the franchise's title movie at this point--following up on the Captain Marvel film, as well as Disney+ shows WandaVision and Ms. Marvel, without actually giving viewers any reason to watch them--is bombing at the box office, the Jonathan Majors situation certainly isn't fixing itself, and, probably a result of those first two things, the director of the next Avengers movie is reportedly no longer directing the next Avengers movie. With everything continuing to be in flux, we have every reason to believe that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue to operate the way it has been: with a bunch of unrelated stories that don't matter to each other and which have no big-picture narrative to speak of.

At this rate, though, The Marvels is likely to be only the first of many box office bombs for the MCU--unless they can find a better way of correcting course.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Madame Web Trailer's "He Was In The Amazon With My Mom" Line Is An Internet Hit

The recently released Madame Web trailer introduces an origin story setup for the eponymous character along with multiple Spider-Woman characters--including Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter. But what people might remember the most from the video is Dakota Johnson's delivery of a line by Cassandra Webb: "He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died."

The internet quickly turned the Madame Web dialogue into a meme. For instance, people shared how hilarious the line is when coming from other famous movie characters, like Luther in Mission: Impossible or even at the end of Chinatown. Check out some of our favorites below:

Payday 3 Recouped Development Costs In 9 Days, Despite Issues

Payday 3 launched in September, but the release was marred with serious server issues. What impact those issues have had on the game are not totally clear. As part of publisher Starbreeze's latest earnings report, the company said the game performed ahead of expectations in terms of "initial" game sales. Starbreeze also said it has already made its money back off the game.

Starbreeze said Payday 3 has "reached recoup." That's not a big surprise, though, as the game was fully funded prior to launch thanks to a €50 million deal with Koch Media.

Koch Media owner Embracer, however, says Payday 3 did not live up to every expectation. CEO Lars Wingefors said during Embracer's earnings briefing that sales of Payday 3 out of the gate came in "a bit weaker than expected," according to VGC.Continue Reading at GameSpot
