Destiny 2 Dead Man's Tale Catalyst Guide - How To Unlock It And Make Quick Progress

Destiny 2's Presage Exotic mission will earn you Dead Man's Tale, a new Exotic scout rifle. But if you want to further improve the gun with its Exotic catalyst, you'll have to take on a much tougher version of the mission, while also seeking out a whole lot of secrets aboard the Glykon. Here's how to get the Dead Man's Tale catalyst, what it's good for, and how to unlock it quickly. Earning the catalyst requires you to complete Presage at least twice, but you'll get faster progress on the catalyst if you're willing to run it several times. There are a lot of moving parts involved with the new Exotic quest, however. It seems that you'll want to run the mission at least once a week to get the maximum speed out of your catalyst progress. We've got plenty more coverage of the Presage mission, including a complete guide of how to access Presage and how to uncover all of its secrets, and a rundown of all of the hidden lore found within it so far.Continue Reading at GameSpot

HP Purchases HyperX Gaming Brand From Kingston For $425 Million

HP Purchases HyperX Gaming Brand From Kingston For $425 Million

PC manufacturer HP has completed the purchase of HyperX from Kingston, in a deal worth $425 million. HyperX has operated as a gaming-focused brand underneath Kingston, producing numerous PC gaming peripherals ranging from headsets to microphones. The brand most notably produced the Cloud range of headsets for PC, which have been lauded for comfort and sound quality across many iterations. HP, on the other hand, has been struggling to penetrate the peripherals market with its own gaming sub-brand, Omen. Although the name its associated with the company's line of gaming laptops which have sold well, it hasn't had the same effect with its peripheral products when compared to competitors such as Razer, Corsair, Logitech, and more.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Can You Play Persona 5 Strikers Without Persona 5 (And Royal)?

Can You Play Persona 5 Strikers Without Persona 5 (And Royal)?

Persona 5 Strikers has finally launched worldwide for PlayStation 4, PC, and Switch, and you probably know by now that it's a sorta-sequel spinoff that continues the timeline of Persona 5. But with the original RPG not being available on non-PlayStation platforms, the question of whether or not newcomers can still enjoy Strikers is a pertinent one. And the simple answer is: Yes, but your mileage will vary. In my Persona 5 Strikers review, I praised the game's action-RPG combat mechanics, excellent soundtrack, and new characters, among other things. And the fact that I got to see my old friends, the Phantom Thieves, again as they go on a summer vacation to enjoy life and save the world one more time was a real treat. The opening hours do spend time plainly re-establishing the personality traits of its returning cast, but of course, it's not the same as seeing them grow into who they are in their 100-hour journey prior. So if you want to have a really deep bond with the cast, I'd recommend playing Royal first. Nevertheless, the charisma of the Phantom Thieves shines through in how they express themselves and fight in the Metaverse, the alternate dimension where all the battles take place. If they don't make a strong impression on you when meeting them in their normal lives, they're sure to win you over with the way they stylishly tear through demonic adversaries. Their personas, special attacks, and unique animations in Strikers really embody the Phantom Thieves' fighting spirit, and that alone says a lot about who they are.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Tom Holland Auditioned For John Boyega's Star Wars Role But He Botched It In A Hilarious Way

Actor Tom Holland auditioned for a role in Star Wars, but it didn't work out because he simply could not stop laughing during his tryout as he acted alongside a woman pretending to be a robot. Speaking to Backstage, Holland said he has "quite a few" audition horror stories, including ones where he read the wrong lines. But for his Star Wars audition, Holland said he had advanced through multiple stages of auditions for John Boyega's role, Finn. The Spider-Man actor was reading lines next to a human who was portraying a robot, and Holland just couldn't keep it together, and as such, he didn't get the part. "I remember my audition for Star Wars, I was like four or five auditions in, and I think I was auditioning for John Boyega's role. I remember doing this scene with this lady, bless her, and she was just a drone," he said. "So I was doing all of this, like, 'We gotta get back to the ship!' And she was going, 'Bleep, bloop bloop, bleep bloop.' I just couldn't stop laughing. I found it so funny."Continue Reading at GameSpot

Apex Legends' Anniversary Collection Event Has Been Extended For A Week

Apex Legends' Anniversary Collection Event Has Been Extended For A Week

Respawn has extended the Anniversary Collection Event for Apex Legends by another week. So instead of ending on February 23, the limited-time event will continue until March 2 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. As a result, you now have seven extra days to unlock the event's limited-time rewards. Remember, once the Anniversary Collection Event ends, those rewards could very well be gone for good. Respawn has brought back certain weapon and character skins from past limited-time events in subsequent events, but not every one. Unlocking all 24 rare and legendary rewards in the Anniversary Collection Event will automatically give you 150 Heirloom Shards. That's enough to unlock any character heirloom you want--heirlooms are the hardest to acquire cosmetic items in Apex Legends. The only other way to unlock 150 Heirloom Shards is to open 500 Apex Packs, which requires you to spend either a lot of money or time.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Nintendo Explains How Animal Crossing's Mario Warp Pipes Work

Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Mario update arrives on February 25, and it introduces a line of Mushroom Kingdom furniture and clothing to the Switch life sim. Perhaps the most intriguing addition is the warp pipe, which lets you travel quickly between two points around your island, and Nintendo has now shared some more details on how this works. As the company first revealed during the February 2021 Nintendo Direct, you can purchase a pair of warp pipes from Nook Shopping once the Mushroom Kingdom items go on sale and place them at two different points around your island. Once the two pipes are set, you can hop into one to travel between the two locations quickly. This works even if one of the warp pipes is placed inside your house. If you have more than two pipes placed around your island, your warp location will be chosen randomly. Nintendo says you'll also need to ensure that the pipes have enough landing space around them before you can use them.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Today's Best Deals: Cyberpunk 2077 For $30, Gears Tactics For $25, And More

Today's Best Deals: Cyberpunk 2077 For $30, Gears Tactics For $25, And More

If you're experiencing the Monday morning blues, a little retail therapy may help alleviate some of the post-weekend sadness. After all, a new week brings a fresh assortment of great deals. We've rounded up the best deals of the day, including steep discounts on games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Gears Tactics. As part of Pokemon's 25th anniversary celebration, Pokemon fans can also save on one of the Nintendo Switch's best Pokemon games as well as a batch of collectibles. Check out today's highlights from various sales across the internet: Cyberpunk 2077 + steelbook $30 (was $60) Best Buy's Deal of the Day drops Cyberpunk 2077 to $30 for Xbox and PlayStation platforms, which matches the game's lowest price since release. It also comes with a bonus steelbook case, so this is essentially the best deal we've seen. Of course, it must be noted that Cyberpunk 2077 for consoles is in rough shape, especially if you're playing on PS4 or Xbox One. That said, Cyberpunk 2077 will continue to receive updates throughout the year, and if you're interested in checking out the open-world adventure from CD Projekt Red, this is definitely a solid deal. See at Best Buy Gears Tactics $25 (was $60) Gears Tactics released on Xbox during the holidays and has been discounted fairly regularly, but we can't recall seeing it for more than 50% off. Best Buy's current deal drops the price of the superb strategy game to only $25. Gears Tactics takes the atmosphere of one of Microsoft's flagship franchises and adapts it into a thrilling and rich tactical experience filled with clever scenarios and larger-than-life boss battles. It earned an 8/10 in our Gears Tactics review and is playable on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. See at Best Buy Godfall $40 (was $70) Counterplay Games' Godfall released alongside the PS5 last November and is one of the platform's few console exclusives. The action-RPG is held together by its great combat, and its high-fantasy world is gorgeous thanks to the power of the PS5. While Godfall is certainly repetitive, for those itching for a true next-gen game to play on PS5, it may be worth the plunge at Amazon right now. The retailer has Godfall for $40 right now, down from its normal $70. See at Amazon Overcooked: All You Can Eat $35 (was $50) Team17's Overcooked series is an excellent choice for those looking for some family-friendly co-op games. Right now, Amazon has Overcooked: All You Can Eat for $35 on PS5. The bundle contains both remastered Overcooked games as well as all of the DLC released for each. In Overcooked, you have to race to prepare meals for hungry customers across a variety of zany levels. Overcooked demands constant communication between you and your fellow chefs, so it's ideal for local co-op. To be clear, Overcooked can get quite stressful, but it has a lighthearted tone and colorful cartoon graphics that help make it a hilarious treat. See at Amazon Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX $45 (was $60) Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX was quietly one of the best exclusives released on Nintendo Switch last year. The remake of the first two entries in the Mystery Dungeon series received a wonderful makeover. Along with a sublime art style, Rescue Team DX significantly improves the combat and exploration from the original 2006 release. The story, which puts the Pokemon front and center, is well-written and arguably one of the best in any Pokemon game. You can pick up Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX for $45 at Best Buy right now. See at Best Buy Hori Split Pad Pro $40.49 (was $50) For those with large hands, playing the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode can be a pain. The Hori Split Pad Pro replaces the Joy-Con, giving the console or more traditional feel. There are other benefits to the Split Pad Pro, too. The joysticks are longer and more closely resemble conventional gamepad sticks. Also, the Split Pad Pro adds a conventional D-pad. You can only use the Split Pad Pro in handheld mode, and it does tend the drain the console's battery a tad quicker than normal. Amazon currently has the black model on sale for $40.49. See at Amazon Pokemon collectibles 20% off To celebrate Pokemon's 25th anniversary, GameStop is offering select toys and collectibles for 20% off. The promotion largely focuses on Funko Pops and plushies featuring popular characters such as Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, and Mew. See at GameStop John Wick: Chapters 1-3 4K Blu-Ray $25.60 (was $45) Amazon has John Wick: Chapters 1-3 on 4K Blu-ray discounted to a stellar price right now. Normally $45, you can snag the box set for just $25.60. It comes with all three John Wick movies, which are some of the best modern action films. Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 Includes Reputation System, Map Reworks

Rainbow Six Siege's latest operator, Flores, was unveiled a few days ago, and now Ubisoft has unveiled a full Year 6 roadmap for the game. Good behavior is also a central pillar of Year 6, and there will be a new tool to help with this. As revealed previously, Rainbow Six Siege's first season in Year 6 will be Crimson Heist, and in addition to Flores joining the battle, it also includes a reworked version of the Border map. If you're on a PC test server, you can start playing it tomorrow, February 22. Seasons 2 will include a Nakoda Nations operator and a rework of Favela, while Season 3 will include three reworks for maps and will feature Croatian operators. A fourth operator will be from Ireland, and the Outback map will be getting a rework. It's more than just content updates coming this year, though. Several gameplay elements are being reworked, including being able to control cameras and gadgets after you've died, as well as letting attackers change out operators as many times as they need to during the match's preparation phase. Armor will be switched to health, as well, and there will be a new one-bullet weapon called the Gonne-6 that can destroy bulletproof gadgets. It's only available to a few operators, including Glaz, Dokkaebi, Lion, Finka, Amaru, Gridlock, Iana, and Zero.Continue Reading at GameSpot

DualSense Teardown Shows Drifting Issues Should Have Been Expected

DualSense Teardown Shows Drifting Issues Should Have Been Expected

With a class-action lawsuit recently filed against Sony over issues with DualSense controllers' drifting analog sticks, the company could be looking at ways it can improve the design. Unfortunately, the problem doesn't look like it has an easy fix. In a new video from iFixit, the site looks into the reasons why the problem is becoming more prevalent, and it found the DualSense is using "off the shelf" joystick modules that have been prone to drifting in the past. The same module is used by a lot of other controllers, too, including the Nintendo Switch Pro controller and the Xbox Elite controller, the latter of which has seen drifting issues of its own. The joysticks aren't easy to remove for quick replacement, either. On the DualSense, haptic motor wires are soldered to the board, and these must be removed before you can do anything else. Once that's done, 14 different solder points must be melted to get off the joystick module at all.Continue Reading at GameSpot

WoW Is Finally Letting You Ride A Huge Tree And It Looks Amazing

World of Warcraft's new Chains of Domination update for the Shadowlands expansion is adding a brand-new mount that is a giant ancient tree that you can ride and stomp around on. Finally. It's probably my most-anticipated part of the update (I am only joking a little). At BlizzConline, I spoke with WoW principle game designer Jeremy Feasel about this mount, including how it came about, why it's so unique, and how it connects to the wider lore. Blizzard launched a player survey some time ago asking fans what they would like to see from a new mount, allowing them to vote to determine what it would be. The idea was to work closely with the community in a new way to help players feel a greater sense of connection to Azeroth and the Warcraft universe. Some of the other options in the survey included a giant book you could ride, a kitty cat made of jelly, a caterpillar, and a creepy spider.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Investor At Center Of GameStop Stock Fiasco Says He "Barely" Understands It

If you don't know the name Keith Gill, you at least know what he did. The investor, who often posts on the WallStreetBets Reddit page, was largely responsible for triggering a massive spike in the price of GameStop stock, ultimately becoming a multimillionaire and hurting short-sellers who bet on the stock to fail. But even Gill doesn't really know how everything works here. Speaking during a Congressional hearing about the GameStop situation (via PC Gamer), Gill admitted he "barely" understands certain elements of the previous month's events, including Robinhood halting purchases when GameStop's stock had peaked at several hundred dollars. "It's alarming how little we know about the inner-workings of the market, and I am thankful that this Committee is examining what happened," he said.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Metallica's BlizzCon Performance Ruined By Twitch

Metallica's BlizzCon Performance Ruined By Twitch

BlizzCon veterans Metallica returned for this year's only-only BlizzConline festivities, but the thrash metal band's performance was ruined by a most unlikely culprit: Twitch. Right in the middle of one of its songs, the audio was replaced by some easy listening bell music, presumably to avoid having Blizzard banned for a false DMCA notice. The clip, which esports expert Rod Breslau shared on Twitter, shows the band rocking out, with lead guitarist Kirk Hammett shredding, completely unaware that people were hearing what sounded like the main menu theme for a Teletubbies game. the current state of Twitch: the official Twitch Gaming channel cut off the live Metallica concert to play 8bit folk music to avoid DMCA pic.twitter.com/sCn56So8Ee — Rod Breslau (@Slasher) February 19, 2021 Several commenters online have pointed out the irony of this happening to Metallica. The band, particularly drummer Lars Ulrich, has been heavily critical of online music sharing, and the band had a high-profile case with Napster back in 2000.Continue Reading at GameSpot

WandaVision Episode 7: 21 Easter Eggs, Marvel References, And Things You Missed

Episode 7 of WandaVision is here and Westview is now in the 2010s, when sitcoms began to really lean into the "talking head" segments and mockumentary style directing with shows like Modern Family and The Office. So, naturally, we get a whole lot of that going on here--even though some of Westview's residents seem a bit less enthusiastic than others about the whole thing. Meanwhile, Wanda's powers are on the fritz as she slowly loses control over the fabric of Westview's reality, causing glitches in the proverbial matrix that make for all sorts of anxiety. The twins are noticing something is up and looking for answers that Wanda either doesn't have or just doesn't want to give and Vision is still on a crusade to get out of the town, despite having no memory of his life before arriving in Westview at all.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Nvidia Slashes Crypto Mining Performance On Gaming Cards Ahead Of RTX 3060 Launch

To curb continuing stock issues for its latest RTX 30-series, Nvidia is launching a brand-new line of GPUs focused entirely on Ethereum mining, while drastically reducing the effectiveness of GeForce-branded hardware. Ahead of the launch of the RTX 3060 on February 25, Nvidia has announced that it will push out drivers for the GPU that halve its potential effectiveness at mining Ethereum. This is achieved by identifying certain hashing algorithms used when mining the cryptocurrency and reducing the card's performance programmatically. To make up for the change, Nvidia is launching a whole new line of GPUs specifically designed for mining, with the latest Cryptocurrency Mining Processor (CMP) range. These cards won't have any video outputs, feature lower peak core voltages and frequencies, and improved airflow to help densely packed data centers get as much performance as they can from mining racks.Continue Reading at GameSpot

And as one such weird adult, I sincerely regret to inform you that the included "toys" are actually pretty cool. Do with this knowledge what you will. We first started to hear scuttlebutt about the Pokemon Happy Meals in January, with leaked word that it would involve a series of paper-based "toys" instead of the plastic figurines of past promotions. Ha! How cheap, I thought, remembering such Happy Meal royalty as the Halloween dress-up McNuggets and Changeables, which were basically Transformers if Optimus Prime had disguised himself as a milkshake. Even the Pikachu with glowy red cheeks was up there as a pretty sweet collectible! Who needs cheap paper crap? I do, apparently.Continue Reading at GameSpot

The Joker Actually Said "We Live In A Society" And The Internet Can't Deal

The Joker Actually Said "We Live In A Society" And The Internet Can't Deal

In case you thought the saga of Zack Snyder's fabled Justice League cut couldn't get any more absurd, the film's first official trailer has ended with Jared Leto's Joker saying "we live in a society." The line has long been a meme associated with the Joker, but until now no iteration of the character has actually said the line. According to its Know Your Meme page, "we live in a society" is a line associated with the Gamers Rise Up/Gamer Joker meme that arose around 2016, when Leto's version of the Joker was first revealed. The meme features different versions of the Joker, as well as photos of various people wearing their own versions of Joker's makeup, paired with edgy or cringey text. "We live in a society" is one of the most common iterations of the meme, with the line apparently originating from a 1991 episode of Seinfeld. The line has since seen broader popularity outside of the Joker-specific meme, though it was still associated with the character enough that a petition to have Joaquin Phoenix say the line in the 2019 Joker movie gained almost 60,000 signatures.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Avengers: Endgame's Box Office Record Was Just Beaten

Avengers: Endgame's record for biggest opening weekend at the box office in a single market has just fallen. Detective Chinatown 3 opened in China this weekend and it made a gargantuan $397.2 million USD over the weekend, which crushes Avengers: Endgame ($357 million USD) to set a new record for biggest opening in a single market, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Endgame's record was for North America, which is historically one of the most lucrative movie markets in the world. China is a massive market for movies as well, ranking just behind North America in terms of annual box office results, and it continues to grow as these numbers show. Detective Chinatown 3 is projected to end its run at $750 million USD, which would be good for the second-biggest film ever in China, only behind Wolf Warrior 2 ($874 million USD).Continue Reading at GameSpot

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 4 To Be Revealed This Week Alongside "The Biggest Patch Note Ever"

Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has announced that The Panel from Hell will return this week, which will be livestreamed on February 17 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. The previous Panel From Hell revealed the release date for Baldur's Gate 3, but this week's edition will be more focused on the current development of the game and which features are coming next. Players will be able to see enhanced Tieflings, spells, improved cinematics, and revamped cows. The stream will feature principal rules designer of Dungeons & Dragons Jeremy Crawford, creative director Swen Vincke, and guests Nick Pechenin, David Walgrave, and more, according to Larian. The main event of the stream will also be the "biggest patch note ever forged in the fiery pits of Larian" the developer added. Much like the last big patch, this new update will also result in save games prior to its release being incompatible with Baldur's Gate III once it has been released. As supply of Nvidia's new 30-series graphics cards still struggles to meet demand, the GPU manufacturer is now looking to release more stock of its older cards into the market. A report by PC World has confirmed that Nvidia will be releasing more stock of the RTX 2060 and GTX 1050 Ti to its board partners to help cover demand. While the brand-new 30-series GPUs are at the forefront of the graphics card shortages, it's difficult to buy any graphics card right now, with prices on older boards often inflated well above their launch prices. The RTX 2060, for example, is listed between $750 and $800 on Newegg, well above its original launch price of $350 in January 2019. The choice in re-released boards is strategic, with the older boards not requiring the parts that are rumored to be causing manufacturing bottlenecks for new-generation cards and consoles. As the PC World report points out, the 2016 GTX 1050 Ti also lacks the required amount of dedicated video memory to mine the popular cryptocurrency Ethereum, meaning the new stock won't be snapped up by crypto miners before gamers can get to it.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Destiny 2: When Is Crossplay Coming?

Destiny 2: When Is Crossplay Coming?

Destiny 2 is available on a huge number of platforms at this point, including Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia. However, you're currently limited to playing with those on the same platform as you. This used to be the standard for nearly every game, but many modern first-person shooters have started offering crossplay support, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Luckily, crossplay is coming to Destiny 2 in the future. But just when is Destiny 2 getting crossplay? When is Destiny 2 getting crossplay? Though Bungie hasn't given a firm date, it said in late January that crossplay would be coming to Destiny 2 later this year. It has been making changes to the game's current systems in order to facilitate this move, including changing recoil to accommodate for those using mouse-and-keyboard control versus a controller. There will almost certainly need to be more changes once the feature is implemented, not only to make things balanced for cooperative events, but also for ensuring the Crucible stays fair.Continue Reading at GameSpot

New Trailer For Snyder Cut Justice League Features Jared Leto's Joker

The Zack Snyder cut of Justice League will arrive to the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max on March 18. A new trailer has been released for the four-hour-long movie on Valentine's Day that gives more insight into the upcoming movie. The latest trailer for the film shows off a lot of new footage for the recut of the Justice League movie. If you wanted more Knightmare Batman, you got it. If you wanted Black Suit Superman, you got it. If you wanted some more Darkseid or Joker in your life--or any at all--you got it. Almost everything in the new trailer seems like completely new footage. Check it out below. The Joker appears in the final moments of the trailer, a character who was left out entirely of the original cut. However, it appears in what looks to be the Knightmare Batman future. So Jared Leto's slicked-back hair and grilled-out mouth aren't showcased. Instead, we see Leto's Joker with long hair, in a SWAT team vest, with mouth makeup that is a little reminiscent of Heath Ledger's Joker from The Dark Knight. Leto's new Joker take has already been teased once, and more recently, Vanity Fair showcased some non-blurry images of Leto's Joker.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Patch Notes -- League Play Changes And More

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Patch Notes -- League Play Changes And More

Treyarch has released the latest update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and it affects several different game modes, including standard competitive multiplayer, Zombies, and League Play. If you were participating in League Play this weekend, you may need to think of a new strategy to replace your trusty RC-XD scorestreak. The RC-XD is restricted in League Play, meaning you'll want to come up with a new low-level alternative before you're caught off-guard by this change. Additionally, friendly fire has been changed slightly, converting to ricochet damage after the second team-kill and returning damage toward the attacker. Should you get two more team-kills, you will be kicked from the match. Other changes include fixing an issue on the Express map that would let you capture a Hardpoint zone without actually being inside it, and tweaking some UI problems. In Zombies, you also shouldn't be teleported out of the map when others use it in the Village area, nor will you be able to stand on the crafting table. Check out the full patch notes from Treyarch below and make sure you don't miss out on the Double Weapon XP weekend currently running.Continue Reading at GameSpot

The Division 2 Major Updates Aren't Finished, More Content Coming This Year

The Division 2 released back in 2019 and despite improving nearly everything compared to the first game, including combat, mission structure, and progression, the game underperformed for Ubisoft. However, dedicated players have continued supporting it, and this support has convinced Ubisoft to continue developing new content for 2021. In a post on the game's official Twitter account, Ubisoft said it had reversed course after previously planning to not develop any more major updates for The Division 2. Today, we are thrilled to confirm that were will be additional content for The Division 2 released later this year! pic.twitter.com/LRlTwVZEtp — The Division 2 (@TheDivisionGame) February 12, 2021 "Some of you had noticed that Title Update 12 was originally meant to be the last major Title Update for The Division 2, but thanks to your continued support, we are now in the early stages of development for fresh content to release later in 2021," the post said. Destiny 2 Ticuu's Divination Exotic Catalyst Guide: How To Complete Points Piercing Forever Fast

Ticuu's Divination, the seasonal Exotic that joined Destiny 2 with the start of the Season of the Chosen, is a pretty good time. The bow rips through enemies by turning them into bombs, allowing you to detonate them with careful arrow shots that can create massive chain reactions. The bow can be made even better if you complete the objectives on its Exotic catalyst. They require you to kill quite a few enemies with Ticuu's Divination, but if you're smart about how you use it, you can speed through the catalyst and increase the bow's effectiveness significantly. Here's what you can expect from the steps for the Ticuu's Divination Exotic catalyst and some tips on how to complete them super-quickly. Step 1: Get The Catalyst To get started, you'll need Ticuu's Divination. If you're paying for the season pass for the Season of the Chosen, it'll be available in the box on the pass's first level. If not, you'll have to wait until Level 50 to earn the bow. Once you have it, though, you can visit Banshee-44 in the Tower to pick up the Catalyst quest, Points Piercing Forever. You'll only need to pick it up with one character; it'll track your progress across your entire account.Continue Reading at GameSpot

New Bravely Default 2 Trailer Explains The Game's Battle System

Bravely Default II arrives on Nintendo Switch later this month, and ahead of its release, Nintendo and Square Enix have shared a new trailer that provides an overview of the game's unique battle system. Like many classical RPGs, Bravely Default II features turn-based combat, but it weaves in an extra layer of strategy with its titular Brave and Default mechanics. Selecting Default makes your character assume a defensive stance, forgoing their turn to amass one Brave Point. The Brave command, meanwhile, lets you use bankedBrave Points to perform multiple actions in a single turn. As the new trailer explains, carefully utilizing both the Brave and Default commands will be vital to defeating many of the game's tougher adversaries. Despite the number in its title, Bravely Default II is actually the third proper entry in its series. This entry follows four heroes of light--Seth the sailor, Gloria the princess, Adele the mercenary, and Elvis the scholar--as they set out on an adventure across the continent of Excillant to restore the magical Crystals. The game was originally slated to release in 2020 but was pushed back to further fine-tune the experience.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Cobra Kai, Bridgerton Are The Top-Watched Streaming Shows For 2021 So Far

We got our kicks in early this year when Cobra Kai Season 3, the latest in the adventures of Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso, hit Netflix on New Years' Day, and the show is doing well for Netflix, according to ratings tracking firm Nielsen. Nielsen released the latest ratings for streaming shows this week, covering the week of January 4 to January 10. Cobra Kai tops the list with viewers watching 2.1 billion minutes worth of nostalgic martial arts action in that period. Bridgerton followed with 1.6 billion hours. The list for that period is dominated almost entirely by Netflix. The only non-Netflix show to make the list is The Mandalorian in 6th place. Original content dominated, with streams of acquired shows--stuff from Network and Cable TV--like Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, and Schitt's Creek clocking in less than half the stream time of Cobra Kai and Bridgerton. Nielsen SVP of Product Strategy Brian Fuhrer points out that Netflix's acquired Spanish-language series, Mariposa De Barrio, is a standout on the list of acquired shows otherwise filled out by popular American programs. Disney+ did significantly better on the cinematic front, topping out the list with Pixar's Soul, followed by Netflix's We Can Be Heroes. Moana and Frozen II made the list, too.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Bob Odenkirk Is On An Action-Fueled Rampage In Nobody's Super Bowl Trailer

Many of us remember Bob Odenkirk first as a comedy guy, creating stuff like Mr. Show and writing for some of the best comedy shows, like Saturday Night Live and Late Night With Conan O'Brien. Even after his turn as Saul/Jimmy in the Breaking Bad universe, we couldn't have predicted his next move: Bob Odenkirk is officially an action badass in the second trailer for his upcoming movie Nobody. The frustration that follows awakens a long-dormant part of Hutch, who was once an "Auditor" and has to once again bring his skills to bear to defend his family. In a video posted by Xbox on February 5, grandmother Mary and grandson Jason--who live hours apart and have never really known each other--finally get to learn about each other through gaming. Mary received an Xbox Series S so she could play Minecraft with Jason, who ran her through how to use the controller and play the game over voice chat. Over the course of several weeks, Jason learned about Mary's life, including her large family that included five siblings. Meanwhile, Mary learned how to race across the English countryside in Forza Horizon 4, and she also explored the wide-open water with Jason in Sea of Thieves. Razer Raptor 27 Gaming Monitor Review — Apple-Like Design, PC Gaming Power

Razer Raptor 27 Gaming Monitor Review — Apple-Like Design, PC Gaming Power

If it doesn’t have RGB lighting, is it really a Razer product? Razer’s tendency to equip its products with rainbow LEDs has become the subject of jokes, though the company seems to take it with pride, even equipping its first-ever gaming monitor, the Razer Raptor 27, with an RGB stand. It might seem a little silly at first, but once you delve past the Raptor’s colorful gimmick and dive deeper into its specs, build, and performance, you’ll find that Razer’s first gaming monitor is another exceptional example of the company’s ability to deliver a quality product. Display and performance Adorned with an RGB-lit base, the Razer Raptor 27 provides a gorgeous, vivid image on its 27-inch IPS display, which looks doubly nice with its thin bezel. Games look sharp at the screen's native resolution of 1440p, and the change in color tone between Valorant and Call of Duty: Warzone demonstrates the Raptor’s adept range. Bright sunny days in games like Saints Row: The Third Remastered and Metro Exodus are exceptional--the sun peeking through an overpass or set of buildings in Saints Row looks beautiful. Darker scenes, however, is where the Raptor struggles a little. Testing with the most recent Resident Evil games, dark hallways can look more gray than black. While these black levels leave us wanting, with the right settings, the Raptor is still capable of producing a good-looking image.Razer Raptor 27 The Razer Raptor boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and G-Sync compatibility via FreeSync, both of which help it run and perform wonderfully. This provides a real advantage for competitive games like Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant, and Call of Duty: Warzone, where going from a low refresh rate monitor to a high one could make for a substantial improvement in your K/D ratio. In addition to much smoother gameplay over your typical 60Hz, the Raptor’s 144Hz refresh rate contributes to quicker reactions to movement and better precision aiming on the screen. For example, this makes sniping that enemy who pops into view much easier, dropping them before they can duck back into cover.Continue Reading at GameSpot

WandaVision Episode 5: Yes, That Character Is Now In The MCU. Here's What It Might Mean

WandaVision Episode 5: Yes, That Character Is Now In The MCU. Here's What It Might Mean

The following contains major spoilers for WandaVision Episode 5. If you have yet to see the episode, this is your last chance to turn away. In addition to being the creepiest one yet, this week's episode of WandaVision had one of the biggest (and most meta) twists in MCU history--the "resurrection" of a long-dead character but with a caveat only a show like WandaVision could actually pull off. Pietro Maximoff, AKA Quicksilver, is back. But he's been very literally "recast." Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played Pietro in Avengers: Age of Ultron has been officially replaced in the MCU by Evan Peters, who played Pietro in Fox's X-Men movie franchise. And to make matters even stranger, people in the universe of the show are aware of the change--the comment about "recasting" the role comes directly from Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) as she observes the show-within-a-show from the SWORD base.Continue Reading at GameSpot
