Xbox Has Put Together A New Team Focused On Game Preservation

Microsoft probably likes the inspirational quote, "Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward." That's because Xbox has created a new team that will spearhead game preservation for the company now and into the future.

Windows Central reported that President of Xbox Sarah Bond sent out an email to her team announcing the new group. "We have formed a new team dedicated to game preservation, important to all of us at Xbox and the industry itself," wrote Bond. "We are building on our strong history of delivering backwards compatibility to our players, and we remain committed to bringing forward the amazing library of Xbox games for future generations of players to enjoy."

According to Windows Central, Microsoft confirmed the authenticity of Bond's email. In addition, Bond did post on X (formerly known as Twitter) after the report went live, saying, "Xbox. Always." No official details were shared by Microsoft about this new team.
