James Bond's License Is To Kill, Not Mill About Yellowstone National Park

Sometimes, going off the beaten path will land you in hot water. That's what happened to former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan, who recently pleaded guilty to entering an off-limits area in Yellowstone National Park last year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnan will pay a $500 fine along with donating $1,000 to a nonprofit called Yellowstone Forever. The former 007 apparently left a trail in a thermal area this past November and shared photos of being in the off-limits area on social media.

On Instagram, Brosnan expressed "deep regret" for the incident. "As an environmentalist, I have the utmost respect for and love of our natural world. Rocket Launch Sends Ship To Space In Bid To Get Back To Moon, Explodes On Re-Entry

NASA and SpaceX are celebrating today, as SpaceX successfully launched its Starship into outer space in another step in NASA's plan to put humans back on the Moon and eventually to Mars. The ship broke up during re-entry and crashed into the Indian Ocean, and the flight plan was not a total success.

This was the third Starship test flight; a previous test of ship riding the biggest rocket ever created ended quite differently, as it began to spin and later exploded not long after launching.

NASA is doling out money to SpaceX and other private companies to work on technology to get humans to the Moon as part of the Artemis program. Bill Skarsgård Takes Flight In First New Crow Trailer

This year is the 30th anniversary of the first Crow movie famously, and tragically, starring Brandon Lee in the titular role. Now, Bill Skarsgård is donning the facepaint for the character in a reboot, picking up the baton from Lee and Mark Dacascos, who played the character on a TV series adaptation of the film.

The first images of Skarsgard as the Crow arrived online last month, but didn't make the best first impression with franchise fans. Of course, many were still willing to give it a chance. GTA 6 Is Most Important Game Release In Industry's History, Analyst Says

The games industry isn't in the best shape at the moment, with cost-cutting measures leading to layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations--and there are few major titles on the way to shore up sales. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, industry analyst Mat Piscatella has said that GTA 6 might end up being an incredibly important release for the industry at large.

Piscatella, who works for tracking firm Circana, says 2024 isn't looking great for the games industry, with overall spending expected to dip by anywhere from 2% to 10%, depending on how optimistic you are.

Oh No, Helldivers 2 Has Flying Bugs To Deal With Now

Helldivers 2 players have a new threat to watch out for following this week's patch, as a new breed of Terminid enemies have been introduced to the game. While the Terminid ground forces live up to their name and terrain, these new bugs are an airborne menace that have begun appearing in the game.

Are they even real? Helldivers 2 director Johan Pilestedt took to X/Twitter to rubbish these claims, rejecting the reality of flying bugs and substituting his own Ministry of Truth-approved spin on the claims. "I've heard rumors of flying bugs in Helldivers 2," Pilestedt wrote. "I want to officially refute such preposterous claims. Everyone knows that 'Bugs can't fly'. And I'm not alone in thinking this. The Ministry of Truth agrees that this is propaganda from bug sympathizers that want to brainwash good people."

What makes the sudden arrival of these airborne assault units--called Shriekers--surprising is that Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead left them out of the patch notes. While the lengthy list of tweaks and fixes mentioned things like making Chargers significantly more susceptible to explosive trauma to the face, the stealthy arrival of Shriekers made for a fun--and horrifying--surprise. Christopher Nolan Got Paid $100 Million For Oppenheimer - Report

Christopher Nolan finally won the Oscar for Best Director for the megahit Oppenheimer--which won seven awards including Best Picture--but it also helped bring Nolan his biggest payday as a filmmaker. It's a first-time feat for the director, who didn't even profit as much from his Dark Knight trilogy.

While a representative for the filmmaker didn’t respond to a request for comment, Variety is reporting that with his initial director fee added to this role as a producer and the Oscar wins, Nolan received about $100 million for the feature. Most of that came from the backend, including the box office escalation fees.

Oppenheimer was released last summer, made for $100 million, becoming half of the Barbenheimer tag team, eventually earning $958 million at the global box office. New Helldivers 2 Patch Makes Chargers Easier To Kill, If You're Brave Enough

A new patch for Helldivers 2 has gone live and has introduced some big changes for some of the toughest Terminid enemies in the game. After Bile Titans and Chargers became significantly more challenging to battle following a recent balance update in Helldivers 2--and a nerf for the magic trio combo of the Breaker shotgun, Railgun, and shield generator backpack--Arrowhead has fine-tuned the spawn rate of these titanic monsters.

These Terminids had begun popping up in greater numbers during missions on higher difficulty levels, leveling teams as they shrugged off attacks with their mostly bulletproof design, but Arrowhead says that this "spawn spike" has been addressed. "We have reduced the spawn rate of Chargers and Bile Titans on difficulties 7 and up," Arrowhead explained in the Helldivers 2 patch notes. "In addition, we have reduced the risk of spawn spikes of Chargers and Bile Titans."

Those gigantic bugs are still dangerous enemies to deal with even when they're fewer in number, but for Chargers, Arrowhead has made that armored enemy easier to deal with if you're prepared to stand your ground. Chargers now have reduced health on their heads, and a well-placed shot from a Recoilless Rifle or an EAT-17 rocket delivered directly to the noggin will be an instant kill.Continue Reading at GameSpot

PlayStation-Partnered Studio From Ex-COD Devs Has Closed

Deviation Games, the studio founded by Call of Duty veterans Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell back in 2021, has closed, according to a LinkedIn post by Deviation's head of HR. The studio had partnered with Sony to develop a new IP that would have been a PlayStation exclusive.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Deviation Games," the post from Deviation chief HR officer Kriste Stull reads. "I want to express my deepest gratitude to our entire team. Raikou Bolts In With Pokemon Sleep's Newest Event

With the recent announcement from Pokemon Day, Pokemon Sleep is adding its very first Legendary Pokemon with Raikou. Raikou's event will allow players to befriend the thunder Pokemon, tackle exclusive weekly missions, and earn new items.

Raikou will be the first Legendary Pokemon added to Pokemon Sleep. Raikou will be appearing in Greengrass Isle and players will have to collect Raikou Mane that can be exchanged for Raikou Incense alongside Raikou Biscuits. The Raikou Incense, but especially the Raikou Biscuits, will make it easier to lure and befriend Raikou during daily research, while Raikou Biscuits will increase Raikou's friendship an immense amount compared to regular Poke Biscuits. During the event, other Electric-type Pokemon will also appear at an increased rate such as Pikachu, Raichu, Mareep, and Jolteon.

To obtain Raikou Mane, players will have to complete special weekly missions that will reward Raikou Mane. ​​Dark Souls 2 is celebrating its 10-year anniversary today, March 11, 2024. Below, we look back at how the unexpected sequel broke with traditions to stand as one of the most unusual Soulsbornes from the studio that created the genre.

Dark Souls 2 has, since shortly after release, been an odd duck in the franchise. It is the only From Software game in the Souls lineage that Hidetaka Miyazaki did not direct. Bloodborne, which came out the following year, stole its thunder (though it is hard to argue unfairly). By the time Dark Souls 3 rolled around, its predecessor's reception had distinctly cooled. It often, though not always, fills out the bottom of "Every Souls Game Ranked" lists. However, if you push past your assumptions of what a Souls game must be, Dark Souls 2 offers an elegiac and illogical sense of place, in contrast to the tightly constructed ruins of other FromSoft games. Dark Souls 2's plentiful pleasures derive from the ways it is most distinct from its predecessors.

To talk about those pleasures, it is best to start at the beginning. All of the Souls games (plus Elden Ring) start with a cinematic that sets the stakes. Although most of their runtime is about the dead or dying gods and kings that once ruled the world you are about to enter, the player-character is usually introduced. You are one of the corralled undead, an unkindled, or a tarnished. Even if your character is from a distant land, you occupy a specific textual place in the world. How To Play The Cluckin' Bell Raid Solo In GTA Online

In GTA Online's newest raid, the Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid, you can infiltrate a major cartel cocaine-smuggling operation with the help of an LSPD police officer. There are six total missions in the raid and a million-plus dollars to be made, so it's certainly a worthwhile heist if you're looking for some extra cash and RP. However, if you're a solo player, can you even complete the raid without teammates helping you kill cartel members?

Can you beat the Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid solo?



Fortunately, I can 100% confirm the new raid in GTA Online is fully able to be finished solo. I went through all six missions at Normal Difficulty completely alone and didn't struggle too much. There were a few times I died due to being overwhelmed by a few too many enemies, but I could have avoided those situations by playing a little safer.

If you're looking to complete the raid on Hard Difficulty as a solo player, you'll have to ensure you play safe at all times. Some missions have dozens of enemies looking to take you down and their guns hit harder, so you need to play behind cover, methodically eliminate enemies, and use stealth to your advantage. Final Fantasy XVI PC Version Is In Final Stage Of Optimization

Final Fantasy XVI director Naoki Yoshida has said that the PC version of the game is in its final stages of optimization.

"In terms of where we are in development currently, we're trying to figure out the final stages of optimization right now," Yoshida explained in an interview with Game Informer. "When we can release the PC version might be dependent on that--the system requirements and specifications for PC that players will need, so we're trying to figure that out. Naturally, [the PC specifications] are looking to be somewhat high."

Yoshida also said that Square Enix is looking to release a demo for the PC version. While he didn't reveal a release date, it seems like it'll come within a year. Former Activision Boss Bobby Kotick Rumored To Be Involved In Buying TikTok

TikTok could have new owners in the future, as fomer Activision Blizzard boss Bobby Kotick has reportedly expressed interest in purchasing the social media platform. According to The Wall Street Journal, Kotick has approached ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming over a potential sale if the company agrees to sell it.

According to WSJ, such a sale is "estimated to be in the hundreds of billions of dollars" and Kotick would need to find partners to raise the necessary funds. One such partner could be Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, and its rumored that TikTok could be used to help train AI models for the company. Kotick also raised the idea at an Allen & Co dinner recently, to other interested parties. In 2020, Microsoft also expressed interest in acquiring TikTok, a move that saw the company's value increase by $77 billion at the time.

TikTok finds itself in the crosshairs of a new US bill, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which aims to "protect the national security of the United States from the threat posed by foreign adversary controlled applications". Major changes are afoot for the battle royale game PUBG, as it's been announced that the popular multiplayer game is getting destructible environments and switching to Unreal Engine 5. In a roadmap blog post, the developer confirmed both these changes and much more.

For destructible environments, Krafton said giving players the ability to "strategically destroy sections of buildings" will add a new level of skill and strategy to the game. "This feature hopes to go beyond mere environmental destruction, infusing the game with an enriched layer of strategy and tactics," Krafton said.

Halloween TV Show Is On A "Fast Track" To Development, Miramax Boss Says

You can't keep a horror franchise down for long, and when it comes to Halloween, Mirimax Television says plans are moving forward to create a TV series set in the world of Michael Myers now that it owns the TV rights to the infamous slasher. Miramax has ambitious plans to resurrect Halloweeen as a cinematic universe for both film and television, and this latest stab at the IP will be a "creative reset" building on the foundation of the first film.

"We're on a fast track, it's a big priority for us. We've had lots of exciting conversations in recent months with a number of really talented people, and I think we'll have a pretty good idea of what we're going to be doing very soon," Miramax head of worldwide television Marc Helwig said to Deadline. "We're hoping to lock down the creative team very soon."

This new take on Halloween will once again reboot Michael Myers and his world, as Helwig added that the recent Halloween movie trilogy co-produced with Blumhouse provided a fitting conclusion to Myers within that particular story. Nintendo And Illumination Are Making Another Mario Movie

In news that should surprise absolutely no one, Nintendo and Illumination announced today--on Mario Day--that the two companies are working together on another Mario movie. 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie earned more than $1.3 billion and finished the year as the No. 2 highest-grossing movie globally (only behind Barbie), so it was likely always only a matter of time before another Mario movie would be announced.

The new film is another animated film that is "based on the world of Super Mario Bros." but whether or not it's The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 or something else remains to be seen. Previously, we heard rumors of a Donkey Kong movie with Seth Rogen, for example.

Game Pass Gets Surprise Announcement Of NBA 2K24

Microsoft has announced that NBA 2K24 is coming to Game Pass later this month. The professional basketball sim will come to the subscription service on March 11.

NBA 2K24 will be available through Game Pass for both console and the cloud. This is the newest entry in 2K's popular basketball series, and it's coming to Game Pass about six months after it first released in September 2023.

The game sold more than 7 million copies, but that figure was below parent company Take-Two's expectations. Whether or not that has anything to do with it coming to Game Pass is unknown. Halo On PlayStation Is Something Xbox Has Considered For A Long Time

As a business, Microsoft regularly considers what it can do to make the most possible money and improve the size, profile, and reputation of its brand, and one idea the company contemplated was bringing Halo to PlayStation.

Former Xbox executive Peter Moore told IGN that Microsoft, years ago, had "conversations about Halo on PlayStation," adding that Microsoft was "constantly" considering its options. Zack Snyder Talks Mental Health And How He Believes The Justice League Snyder Cut Saved Lives

Appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Snyder said the people who call his fans "toxic" should also consider that some also helped save lives with their donations to a mental health charity and for raising awareness for mental health in general. Bandai Namco Reveals First Look At Unknown 9: Awakening Gameplay

Stalker Trilogy Announced, Out Today For $40

The Xbox Partner Preview broadcast contained a special surprise, as Microsoft announced the Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy, and it's out today on console for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. This was leaked earlier this week for PlayStation as well.

The bundle includes the Stalker games Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat. The games are available in a package for $40 or individually for $20 each. Obviously, if you want all three, buying the bundle is the way to go in terms of cost.

Helldivers 2 Creative Director Dismisses Sony Acquisition Scuttlebutt

The PlayStation family won't be growing with the addition of Helldivers 2 studio Arrowhead, it seems. The developer's CEO, Johan Pilestedt, shot down rumors his company was being acquired by Sony.

Spotted by Eurogamer, Pilestedt responded on X (formerly known as Twitter) to someone asking if Arrowhead Game Studios might be joining PlayStation as a first-party developer. The Helldivers 2 creative director outright denied the scuttlebutt: "This is fake," he said. Pilestedt even replied to another person who claimed Arrowhead "sold out to Sony," saying, "this would be the first hear I about it."

Palworld Will Recieve Intensified Anti-Cheat Measures

Palworld is set to get external anti-cheat and other preventive measures after some players could not log in to official servers. A statement from developers Pocket Pair, which was posted on the official Palworld Twitter/X Account reads, "As a company, we do not tolerate any fraudulent activity or cheating, and we are working on measures to deal with it strictly and as a priority."

The first of these measures is a player list function for servers, intended to help players and developers identify and suspend cheaters. Afterwards, an external anti-cheat solution will be added to the game. The specific anti-cheat program or method is not specified, but the statement clarifies that this anti-cheat will be optional for community servers, single-player, and co-op. The statement also promises that further measures will be taken against cheating and cheaters, but does not name them. Details will may come with future patch notes.

Alan Wake 2 Reaches 1.3 Million Sales, Making It Remedy's Fastest-Selling Game Yet

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Alan Wake 2 has sold 1.3 million copies as of February 2024. In a press release shedding more light on the game's post-launch performance, Remedy said that the sequel sold 1 million units by December 2023 and is now the fastest-selling game released by the developer.

"Alan Wake 2 sold over 50% more copies and over three times more digital copies in its first two months than Control did in its first four months," Remedy explained. "Since its release in 2019, Control has sold over 4 million units, generating net revenue--shareable revenue between Remedy and a publishing partner, excluding taxes and platform fees--of approximately 100 million Euros. A great game can generate excellent long tail sales, and we expect this to be the case with Alan Wake 2 as well."

Interestingly, Alan Wake 2 isn't profitable yet--it launched as a digital-only game with an MSRP of $50 on PC and $60 on consoles in October 2023--but Remedy CEO Tero Virtala explained "the game has already recouped a significant part" of its development and marketing expenses. "We now have two established franchises: Control and Alan Wake, which are linked through the Remedy Connected Universe.
