Netflix's Wednesday has been renewed for Season 2. The renewal news came via a video announcement promising more "torture" ahead in the next batch of episodes reimagining the classic franchise as a modern, tongue-in-cheek teen mystery.
"We can't wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore," Wednesday Season 1 co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough told Netflix. "We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn't emptied the pool first."
Season 1 ends by wrapping up most of its cliffhanger mysteries that are set up at the debut, but clearly was setting up some new territory the show the gothic thriller could get into. Gough and Millar recently talked to GameSpot about their desire for director Tim Burton to come back for Season 2, though that was before the show was officially renewed.
