Will Halo Infinite have cross-play? Absolutely, yes. Halo Infinite will have cross-play across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You'll be able to play multiplayer with your friends regardless of the system they own, and because the competitive multiplayer component is free, that means you can easily jump between platforms if you want to try out PC and console. And since it's available as part of Xbox Game Pass on both Xbox and PC, you don't need to buy the campaign, either. However, at launch, there will not be cooperative campaign support, with this feature planned for 2022.
