Valve's New Game Hasn't Been Announced, Already Has Almost 17,000 Concurrent Players

Valve's apparent next project, Deadlock, already has a concurrent player count and the game hasn't even been announced.

On SteamDB, Deadlock is sitting at a concurrent player count of 16,947, with a little more than 13,000 players playing right now, which is more than games like Payday 2 and NBA 2K24 at the moment. The issue is that Deadlock hasn't been announced or revealed in any capacity. When trying to install the game through clicking the button on the SteamDB page, Steam returns with a screen that says, "An error occurred while launching this game: Game configuration unavailable."

Footage of Deadlock surfaced earlier this year when it was leaked online. It's reportedly a multiplayer hero shooter similar to Overwatch, and has influences from other games like Valorant and Smite, as well as Valve's own games such as Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2.Continue Reading at GameSpot
