Evercade EXP-R Handheld And VS-R Console Preorders Finally Restocked At Amazon

Evercade VS-R

$100 Preorder at Amazon Preorder controllers at Amazon

The Evercade EXP-R handheld and Evercade VS-R home console are back in stock at Amazon for the budget-friendly price of $100 each. Amazon had been sold out of preorders since shortly after the retro systems first went live in early May.

The cartridge-based retro devices release August 30 and are compatible with the existing, and quite expansive, Evercade cartridge library. The EXP-R and VS-R come bundled with the upcoming Tomb Raider Collection cartridge, which compiles iconic heroine Lara Croft's first three adventures. Existing Evercade owners can preorder Tomb Raider Collection separately for $25. New accessories, including an ergonomic grip for the Evercade EXP and EXP-R and additional VS-R controllers, are available to preorder, too.

Evercade products tend to be popular on Amazon, and stock is typically limited, so we'd recommend preordering the new systems and accessories soon, if interested. This thought also applies to those who only need Tomb Raider Collection, especially since Tomb Raider is such a big name--similar to Duke Nukem Collections 1 and 2, which regularly sell out on Amazon.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Recently Released Talisman Magical Quest Board Game Is On Sale At Amazon

Recently Released Talisman Magical Quest Board Game Is On Sale At Amazon

Talisman: The Magical Quest Game made a comeback in June, and if you haven't picked up a copy yet, the fantasy dungeon drawler is on sale for $49 (was $60) at Amazon. Manufactured by Avalon Hill, the developer responsible for hits such as Betrayal at House on the Hill and HeroQuest, Talisman was out of print for years and pricey on reseller marketplaces as a result. You can also preorder the first expansion, a cooperative experience dubbed Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckons.

Talisman: The Magical Quest Game, 5th Edition

$49 (was $60)

Talisman's 5th edition features all-new artwork for the game's many cards and cards and tokens, redesigns of all 12 plastic player figures, and retooled rules to streamline setting up and learning the game. Everything you need to play the game comes in the box, including all cards, tokens, coins, and player figures, plus three six-sided dice and the rulebook. There is also a QR code you can scan to access a digital version of the rulebook.

Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckons, the first expansion for the fifth edition, releases on October 1 and is available to preorder at Amazon for $34. If you're interested in playing Talisman cooperatively with friends and family, you'll need to pick up Fate Beckons. The expansion requires the base game. Get Talisman Base Game Deal Preorder Alliances Expansion

If you've never played Talisman before, it's an adventure board game with light RPG mechanics where up to six players compete to obtain the Crown of Command, slay the Elder Dragon and become the new ruler of the land. Each player chooses from one of 12 characters to play as, including the Thief, Elf, Wizard, and Prophetess. The original game launched back in 1983 and since then has seen multiple revisions, the last being the 4th edition in 2008. The game is typically quite pricey on the reseller market. This new 5th edition printing makes picking up a copy of the game much easier.

Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckons is an exciting expansion, because for the first time in the board game's 40-year history, Talisman will offer a cooperative mode for two to six players. The $34 expansion set includes new characters, adventure cards, and spells. Teams will try to conquer five trials, which Avalon Hill describes as offering "endless replayability" due to the sheer number of variables in the mix. If you're a Talisman veteran, you'll get to experience a new way to play the strategy game, and co-op mode tend to be nice onboarding experiences for brand-new players.Continue Reading at GameSpot

A Bizarre Horse Is Dominating The Internet's Attention Today

A Bizarre Horse Is Dominating The Internet's Attention Today

If you've gone online today, you might have noticed that there has been a significant increase in surprised horse-related images on social media. So where did this bewildered horse come from? You can trace the origin of this hot new meme to a promotional image for We Live in Time, an upcoming romantic drama featuring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh. Two strangers brought together through a car accident, the pair navigate the ups and downs of love, tragedy, and loss together.

To promote the movie, a photo from the set was released that features Garfield and Pugh having a great time on a carnival carousel, but the happy moment is photobombed by a horse that has the most ridiculous facial expression possible. How did this slip by the production crew? Who knows, but all of a sudden, this is the only thing about We Live in Time that is being talked about. People are having a field day online right now, and even several gaming studios have begun foaling around with the horse memes.

Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian trotted out a few memes, the UK PlayStation X/Twitter account joined the fun, and a few other game developers have begun horsing around.Continue Reading at GameSpot

MultiVersus Beetlejuice Trailer Highlights The Ghost With The Most's Spooky Special Moves

MultiVersus Beetlejuice Trailer Highlights The Ghost With The Most's Spooky Special Moves

The next fighter for Warner Bros.'s platform fighter MultiVersus is scaring his way into the roster soon. WB and Player First Games dropped a new trailer focusing on Beetlejuice--the bodacious "bio-exorcist" from the 1989 film of the same name--who will join the playable roster next week.

Beetlejuice is an Assassin-class character in MultiVersus, which focuses on dealing lots of damage while constantly moving around the arena. The trailer highlights multiple moves from Beetlejuice's wacky repertoire, including his ability to shape-shift and an aerial attack where he summons a Sandworm through a magically materialized door. We also see a brief flash of "Beetlejuice! 1/3" after he scores a KO, which indicates a power revolving around saying his name three times--or the way he's usually summoned to someone's side.

Beetlejuice's trademark quick wit is also intact, as we hear multiple quips from the Ghost With The Most as he fights through the roster. At one point, we hear him telling himself to "keep it together in front of Wonder Woman," while in another he says that Harley Quinn "seems like [his] kind of cuckoo" while the two work together to pummel Samurai Jack.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Warhammer: Space Marine Board Game Is Only $32 Ahead Of Space Marine 2's Launch

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 looks to be one of the most exciting upcoming video game releases, but fans can already get their Tyranid-slaying fix thanks to the Space Marine board game adaptation, which is exclusive to Target and 20% off along with a long list of other tabletop games. The deal drops the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine: The Board Game to $32 (was $40), and is eligible for free shipping. To get the lower price, you will need to make a free Target Circle account and sign in before adding the game to your cart. The discount will then automatically apply during checkout. See at Target

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine takes the basic conceit of the Space Marine video games--a lone Space Marine facing down overwhelming hordes of Tyranid aliens--and turns it into a two-player board game with rules based on the original 40K tabletop wargame. One player controls the Space Marine Lieutenant Titus of the Ultramarines Chapter, and the other commands an army of Tyranids in asymmetric matches that last around 30 minutes. The box includes a grid-based playmat, rulebook, dice, ruler, one Lieutenant Titus miniature, and 22 Tyranids. Each miniature comes unassembled and unpainted just like in standard Warhammer 40,000 tabletop sets, giving new players a taste of what it's like to build and customize their own army. The minis are also compatible with the standard Warhammer 40K tabletop game.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Borderlands 3 Surges In Popularity After Movie Bombs At Box Office

Borderlands 3 Surges In Popularity After Movie Bombs At Box Office

The Borderlands movie has been a commercial and critical disappointment since it launched last week, but as a possible side-effect, there has been a spike in interest in the video games. Possibly driven by cinemagoers looking to experience the source material, Borderlands 3 has seen a moderate increase in users and has reached its highest concurrent Steam player count since February 2023. According to SteamDB, the game recently peaked at 12,379 players, which is a big increase compared to previous months.

Borderlands 2 also fared better--7,938 peak Steam players recently--and while they're nowhere near as high, the original Borderlands and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel games have also seen increased activity. As mentioned above, this is only for the Steam version of the Borderlands games, so the final results are likely even higher when you factor in users from the Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.

Interestingly, Gearbox added a new feature to Borderlands 3 that allows you to skip the entire main campaign with a new character, provided that you have a max-level character and have beaten the campaign once.Continue Reading at GameSpot

First Alien: Romulus Reactions Say It Plays The Franchise's Greatest Hits

First Alien: Romulus Reactions Say It Plays The Franchise's Greatest Hits

This week, the Alien franchise is celebrating its 45th anniversary by releasing Alien: Romulus. The film is a sequel to the original Alien, and takes place during the decades-long gap between that movie and James Cameron's Aliens. The first reactions to Alien: Romulus have now arrived online; and while most of the early word is good, there are some mixed responses as well.

Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter called it the "summer's best movie," and teased a "crazy new direction."

Valve's New Game Hasn't Been Announced, Already Has Almost 17,000 Concurrent Players

Valve's apparent next project, Deadlock, already has a concurrent player count and the game hasn't even been announced.

On SteamDB, Deadlock is sitting at a concurrent player count of 16,947, with a little more than 13,000 players playing right now, which is more than games like Payday 2 and NBA 2K24 at the moment. The issue is that Deadlock hasn't been announced or revealed in any capacity. When trying to install the game through clicking the button on the SteamDB page, Steam returns with a screen that says, "An error occurred while launching this game: Game configuration unavailable."

Footage of Deadlock surfaced earlier this year when it was leaked online. It's reportedly a multiplayer hero shooter similar to Overwatch, and has influences from other games like Valorant and Smite, as well as Valve's own games such as Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Tango Gameworks Saved By PUBG Publisher Krafton, Hi-Fi Rush Rights Also Acquired

Tango Gameworks Saved By PUBG Publisher Krafton, Hi-Fi Rush Rights Also Acquired

Tango Gameworks was closed by Microsoft in May, and many lamented the loss of a studio that had operated for nearly 15 years and produced games like surprise 2023 hit Hi-Fi Rush. Seoul-based publisher Krafton Inc. has saved the day, however, as the firm announced that it has acquired both Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi Rush IP from Microsoft.

The agreement will allow Tango to "continue developing the Hi-Fi-Rush IP and explore future projects" according to Krafton's official announcement of the move. The statement also confirms that there will be "no impact" on other Tango projects like The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo, which will remain with Microsoft. We bet there will be a lot of fistbumps at Tango when they get back into the office.

Krafton announced the acquisition Monday morning in Seoul--Sunday evening for North America--and said that the move "reinforces Krafton’s dedication to expanding its global footprint and enhancing its portfolio with innovative and high-quality content." Speaking with Windows Central, a Microsoft spokesperson said that the company is "working with Krafton to enable the team at Tango Gameworks to continue to build games together and we look forward to playing their next great game."Continue Reading at GameSpot

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Nendoroid Figures Available To Preorder At Amazon

A sequel to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice doesn't seem likely, but at least you can make your own follow-up to the brilliant From Software action game with a pair of cute Nendoroid figures. Available to preorder now at Amazon, these two figures of Wolf ($46) and Genichiro Ashina ($52) will begin shipping out May 2025.

* Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Wolf Nendoroid -- $46 | May 14, 2025
* Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Genichiro Ashina Nendoroid -- $52 | May 14, 2025

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Nendoroids

The hero of Sekiro, Wolf has been given a cute makeover for this semi-poseable collectible figure. He still has his signature scar, tattered clothing, and flowing scarf, and you can switch face-plates between a default expression and a more serious glaring one. For the optional parts, you're getting the katana Kusabimaru, a sheath for the weapon, and a "Death" effect sheet.

Genichiro's Nendoroid figure is more regal, and comes equipped with flowing robes and ornate armor. He also comes with a katana, bow, and a dynamic display stand, so you can set up a pretty cool diaroma piece if you grab Wolf as well. He looks significantly less imposing as a Nendoroid figure, but if you make these two battle, you'll want to make sure you have Genichiro win the first few dozen battles for authenticity. Pez Candy Is Pretty Terrible, But These Discounted Animal Crossing Dispensers Are Cute

Most people who buy Pez candy probably aren't thinking about the flavor of the little brick tablets much at all (none taste very good). Addams Family Values on 4K Blu-ray

$26 Preorder at Amazon

There are many, many holiday-themed movies to choose from, but not a whole ton that are specifically oriented around the US's Thanksgiving holiday. One particular perennial Thanksgiving favorite, though, is the darkly hilarious Addams Family Values, the second movie adaptation of the old Addams Family sitcom from the 1960s, and the progenitor to Netflix's Wednesday. And this fall, Addams Family Values is getting a 4K Blu-ray release for the very first time, 31 years after it was originally released in 1993. You could watch it on Thanksgiving and then jump right into the Christmas season with How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which is also releasing on 4K Blu-ray for the first time the same day.

Addams Family Values on 4K Blu-ray

$26

Addams Family Values lands on 4K Blu-ray on October 29, and the release will include a digital copy code.

In this story, the spooky Addams Family--Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Wednesday, Pugsley and Grandmama--welcome a new member of the family, Gomez and Morticia's new baby Pubert. They hire a nanny named Debbie to take care of Pubert, but it turns out she's a serial killer who plans to seduce, marry and then murder Uncle Fester. One part of her plan involves sending Wednesday and Pugsley to a sleepaway camp, where they have to put on a Thanksgiving play--it's one to remember, and a big part of the reason Addams Family Values is a cult classic to this day.

Another major contributor is the way that Addams Family Values balances out its extremely dark sense of humor with a light tone--it's a balance that many films have attempted, but few have actually achieved, with Addams Family Values being a rare example of one that pulled it off. The Addams Family franchise has been around for a very long time--the titular family first appeared in a comic strip in The New Yorker in 1938, and then was adapted into a sitcom that ran for two seasons starting in 1964, followed by animated series in 1973 and 1992, two live-action movies and a live-action TV series in the 1990s, a pair of animated films in 2019 and 2021, and also the 2022 Wednesday series on Netflix, which could very well be the most popular iteration of the franchiseContinue Reading at GameSpot

Best Summer Crops In Stardew Valley

Best Summer Crops In Stardew Valley

Growing and harvesting crops is one of the best ways to make money in Stardew Valley and the Summer season has a few different great options to maximize your profits. Summer has multiple standout options for making money, but it also has a few crops that really aren't worth growing due to low profits.

Best Summer crops

Melons, blueberries, and red cabbage are excellent summer crops.

The best crops to grow in Summer for profit are blueberries, melons, starfruit, and red cabbage. Starfruit seeds are only profitable if bought from the Oasis shop or made from a seed maker and red cabbage isn't available at Pierre's until Year 2. The absolute best option is the blueberries, since the plants continue to reproduce throughout the season, so you don't have to buy more seeds. Each plant gives multiple blueberries each harvest, drastically increasing the crop's overall value.

While it can be tempting to only focus on the most profitable crops, if you are going down the community center path, you will need a variety of crops to complete the bundles needed to unlock the Greenhouse.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Fortnite Is Getting Its Own In-Game Disney Store, According To Leak

Fortnite Is Getting Its Own In-Game Disney Store, According To Leak

Disney might be getting its own dedicated store within Fortnite, and it could be announced very soon.

A leaked image has surfaced online showing what appears to be a separate store section for Disney and Marvel skins that Fortnite has had thus far. The reason for Disney and Epic for going down this route is unclear, but it's possible that due to the many collaborations between them, perhaps they wanted to make their skins more readily available.

RUMOR: FIRST LOOK AT AN UPCOMING DISNEY ITEM SHOP 🔥
This image was sent to @HYPEX & me earlier today. The person who sent this to us explained that Epic Games is "developing a Disney IP store in Fortnite" 👀
If accurate, this update might be announced at D23 tomorrow! pic.twitter.com/7HPxUGiaUr — Shiina (@ShiinaBR) August 9, 2024

Many Disney skins, such as Darth Vader and the original Spider-Man, can't be obtained anymore either because they were limited-time items or locked away behind previous battle passes.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Super7's Ninja Turtles Pizza Party Wagon Is An S-Tier Comic-Con Exclusive

Super7's Ninja Turtles Pizza Party Wagon Is An S-Tier Comic-Con Exclusive

Every year, in the aftermath of San Diego Comic-Con, those who were lucky enough to attend (or snag the item of their choice online) marvel at the exclusive toys, apparel, statues, models, and just about everything else that's released specifically for the convention. The exclusives are aimed at different fandoms and this year, if you ask us, Super7 won SDCC with their lineup of Ninja Turtles figures, themed to a pizzeria conceived by the party dude himself, Michelangelo.

The Mikey's Pizza toy line released at the convention not only included new figures from Super7's Ultimate lines, including a Michelangelo figure packaged in a pizza box, but also specially packaged variants from their ReAction lineup. The crown jewel, however, is the Pizza Party Wagon. Super7 provided one of their Pizza Party Wagon's for review and, to put it bluntly, it's fantastic.

Previously, Super7 released their take on the iconic Party Wagon the turtles used in the original animated series. Theirs was styled to resemble an upgraded version of the 1989 toy. Comparatively, NECA released their own take on the Party Wagon, but much like their animated Ninja Turtles figures, it was meant to resemble the cartoon itself, rather than the original action-figure line, which Super7 emulates.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Take-Two Boss Says Call Of Duty On Game Pass Will Help Drive Memberships "For A Period Of Time"

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick believes putting major "frontline" titles on a subscription service like Game Pass will no doubt help drive memberships, though he suggested this may only work for so long. In a new interview, Zelnick said Microsoft's decision to put Black Ops 6 on Game Pass on day one "won't affect" any decisions that Take-Two makes about its own games.

And why is that? "Because our decisions are rational," he told GI.biz.

Zelnick added: "I think that offering a frontline title with a premium price in a subscription service, day-and-date, will push consumers to that subscription service for at least a period of time."Continue Reading at GameSpot

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2's Latest Trailer Showcases Both PvE and PvP In Action

The Emperor of Mankind is going to keep players extremely busy once Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II comes out. On top of playing through the main story, players will also have the chance to play PvE modes or slay heretics in PvP.

In a new gameplay video, we got a closer look at one of the operations players can undertake in Space Marines 2, which takes them to Planet Kadaku. Like inthe main campaign, players will be going against various Tyranids. The latest video shows three Space Marines doing just that while fighting a boss known as a Carnifex.

That wasn't the only thing shown off. We also got a closer look at the Capture and Control multiplayer mode. As the name suggests, the goal of the game is to hold key points on the map for a specific amount of time. Whoever controls the area will begin to earn points, and the winning team is decided by whoever reaches the score limit first or by whoever has the most points when time runs out.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Mojang Studios And Hive Games Launch The World's First Hospital-Supported Minecraft Server

Mojang Studios and Hive Games recently launched the first-ever private Minecraft server for Seattle Children's Hospital. On the server, patients can play "in a safe and monitored environment" with one another.

As the Seattle Children's blog post points out, the children can now explore the hospital in Minecraft, even if they can't leave their rooms. The Minecraft hospital was designed by attending surgeon and pediatric otolaryngologist Henry Ou, MD, and the project's goal was to help children feel more comfortable in the hospital.

The server itself is supported in more than 10 languages. It includes survival elements and minigames to ensure children of all ages can enjoy it. One of the minigames includes a parkour mode in which players race to specific points before time runs out, all while being chased by other players known as hunters. The Survival mode will be on one server to allow all the children to work together, if they want.Continue Reading at GameSpot

The Borderlands Movie Social Reactions Are Out And It's Not Looking Good

The Borderlands Movie Social Reactions Are Out And It's Not Looking Good

You might not be aware, but Eli Roth directed a Borderlands movie based on the popular video game franchise and it comes out this week. The official review embargo lifts on August 8, however, social impressions were free to run wild and they are not the best.

The film doesn't adapt any specific Borderlands story but takes place in the world of Pandora and within the lore of the land. A major recognizable element is Jack Black as Claptrap, the game's robotic guide, and your character's sidekick. The main observation seems to be the comparison between that and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which was a reinvention of the team from the comics.

Borderlands is easily one of the worst movies of the year. Fans will be pissed off with how much they get the characters wrong (especially Tina), casual moviegoers will be unimpressed at how much it feels like a half-baked GOTG ripoff.
Full review coming soon to @CGMagonline. — Shak Lambert (@ShakExcellence) August 7, 2024

The social media embargo has now lifted and I can say that #BorderlandsMovie has an exceptional level of detail for those who have played the video games, but I don't know if that's enough to stop people from accusing it of being a Guardians of the Galaxy rip-off. pic.twitter.com/PiShS2NVyC — Sean Patrick Kelly (@SKonMovies) August 7, 2024

Borderlands feels like what an out of touch executive thinks the “cool kids” find appealing. There is not a single earnest character moment here, just obnoxious quips that feel dated as soon as they leave the actors’ mouths. It’s not even so bad it’s good, just a complete mess. pic.twitter.com/M7WCc1cUj3 — Edgar Ortega (@edgorteg) August 7, 2024

Oh hey I can tell you I’ve seen #BorderlandsMovie now and that it’s really bad. I really wanted to like it, but an uninspired plot + several phoned in performances + being stuck in a weird place where it looks both expensive and cheap a the same time make it a huge misfire. pic.twitter.com/nek6r0CuTm — Matthew Simpson (@SmatthewAF) August 7, 2024

Not everything was bleak for the would-be-tentpole, end-of-summer feature. There were some actual positive impressions. Fans praised Jack Black and Cate Blanchett's performances and fans of the franchise will love the Easter eggs.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Fortunate Star is specifically part of the Solstice loot pool, which means you won't get it from playing other activities. The quickest and easiest way to get one is by taking part in Bonfire Bash activities. You'll have a chance to get Fortunate Stars as you complete each run, alongside other Solstice weapons like Compass Rose, Something New, and Crowning Duologue.

There are also chances to get Fortunate Stars from Solstice packages, which you can earn from completing Solstice and Forge bounties as part of the event and from completing certain Triumphs on the Solstice event card. Generally, though, you're going to get tons of Fortunate Stars from Bonfire Bash, which should make chasing good rolls easy enough.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Disney Defends Second Price Hike In Past 12 Months For Disney+

Disney Defends Second Price Hike In Past 12 Months For Disney+

For the second time in the past 12 months, Disney is raising prices for its streaming services, including Disney+. CEO Bob Iger discussed this on the company's earnings call, saying Disney actually has more pricing leverage--that is, the ability to raise prices--than before thanks to the appeal of the platform as he sees it.

"Every time we've taken a price increase, we've had only modest churn from that. Nothing that we would consider significant," he said. A "churn" rate refers to losses from people leaving a given service.

Iger said the introduction of new features to Disney+ like the upcoming ESPN tile and continuous playlists, along with high-profile movies coming to the platform, gives Disney the ability to raise prices without issue.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Stranger Things: The First Shadow Is Coming To Broadway In 2025

Before Stranger Things Season 5 brings the long-running Netflix series to an end, fans in America will finally get a chance to see the stage play next year. Stranger Things: The First Shadow has officially set its Broadway debut for April 2025. And with the news came a fresh trailer for the play.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow opened in London's West End in late 2023. Stephen Daldry directed the play, which serves as a prequel to the series. It features an original story by Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child co-writer Jack Thorne, and Kate Trefry, who completed the script for the play.

The play is an origin story for Henry Creel set in the '50s that reveals how he transformed into the show's primary villain, Vecna. Additionally, the story follows James Hopper, Joyce Maldonado, and even the doomed Bob Newby from Stranger Things Season 2. Fall Guys Invades Fortnite's Battle Royale Modes

Fall Guys Invades Fortnite's Battle Royale Modes

It's been a long time coming, but Fall Guys has finally arrived in Fortnite. The bean-based competition game begins its integration into the Fortnite ecosystem in several different ways--with Fortnite creative islands by Fall Guys developer Mediatonic, the ability for users to publish their own Fall Guys maps and, most importantly, an all-new Fall Guys-themed mini-game for battle royale and Zero Build.

Let's start with that. With this week's update, Fortnite battle royale will now host a Fall Guys mini-game that players can participate in by praising one of the statues of a Fall Guys bean person located around Classy Courts. Once you do, you'll be transformed into a bean person and made to play Fall Guys in an obstacle course in the sky. You'll have 120 seconds to complete it for loot--the faster you get it done, the better your loot will be. You can only complete it once per match, but you get three tries. And once the bean statues are in the storm you're locked out.A glimpse at the Fall Guys obstacle course in Fortnite battle royale.

This is similar to a feature from Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7, during which players could be abducted by aliens and made to play a competitive mini-game. But in this case, the choice to participate is entirely yours. Along with the mini-game will be a series of "Where We Fallin'" quests for rewards, including a bean person back bling.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Ubisoft Delays Two Upcoming Games

Ubisoft Delays Two Upcoming Games

Ubisoft has delayed two of its upcoming games. As part of the company's earnings announcement, the French publisher revealed that the mobile games Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are no longer expected to release in the company's fiscal year 2025. That means they won't be released until some time after March 31, 2025.

The development teams are using the additional development time to "ensure that these experiences deliver on expectations." Ubisoft added that it's hoping the extra time can help its teams "optimize" each game's key performance indicators "in the context of a demanding yet very large market."

Rainbow Six Mobile is, as its name suggests, a mobile version of Ubisoft's popular tactical shooter series. The Division Resurgence, meanwhile, is a free-to-play spin-off of the shooter franchise. The delay of these two games comes not long after Ubisoft canceled The Division Heartland as part of the company's examination of its strategic investments. The Division 3, however, remains in the works.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Indeed, a zoomed-in image seems to match up with the silhouette of Skarsgard's rendition of the character. The Crow releases in theaters in the US on August 23, so if the character is indeed coming to Call of Duty, fans can likely expect it to happen around then.

Overwhelming No Man's Sky Update Overhauls Visuals, Adds Mech-Mounted Flamethrowers

No Man's Sky has been out for many years now, but the updates just keep coming, and this latest one is one of the game's biggest ever. Titled Worlds Part 1, the game's Update 5.0 adds a number of dramatic new features to the game, including improved visuals, better starship customization, and even a jetpack.

As detailed on No Man's Sky's official site, this is one of the biggest updates for the game ever. The visual improvements alone are quite impressive, including a new volumetric cloud rendering system, a fully reworked atmospheric cloud system, a total overhaul to water rendering, improvements to shadow rendering, and better rendering of all planetary objects within the player's sight.

The update also includes a number of gameplay and quality-of-life updates. For example, it includes Expedition 14, which will begin shortly and run for approximately six weeks. It also adds a number of new creatures to the game, 40 new cooking recipes, an improved combat HUD, and a fancy flamethrower for the Liquidator armored mech. Xbox Adds Throwback 360 "Blades" Dynamic Background To Make You Feel Old

Today, Microsoft released a brand new dynamic background for download, and it's based on the iconic "Blades" format first introduced with the Xbox 360.

The interface shows the green and grey colors that made this design so memorable back in 2005. However, it's only a dynamic background and you can't actually flip through anything. In order to change your background, follow these steps:

* Press the Xbox button in the middle of the controller to bring up the menu
* Scroll over to Profile & System and click Settings. Under the General tab, click on Personalization, then go to My Background then to Dynamic Backgrounds.
* Under the Featured Tab, choose Xbox 360 Blades

Takes you back, doesn’t it?

This move seems like a final acknowledgement of the Xbox 360 before its storefront closes down for good on July 29. While you'll still be able to buy and download Xbox 360 content that's backwards compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S through their respective digital storefronts, anything that can only be found through the Xbox 360 Marketplace will be gone after that date.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Epic's Tim Sweeney believes Fortnite is basically an early version of the metaverse, and he recently spoke about this belief and how he sees the game growing and evolving over time.

"It's going to evolve a lot," Sweeney said. He spoke to researcher Matthew Ball about this recently, ahead of Fortnite's seventh anniversary in August.

Fortnite as it exists today is limited by the available technology with which to build it. For example, Sweeney said the game's battle royale mode is limited to 100 people because "computers in the data center were just too slow" when the game released. And Fortnite is divided into a number of different islands for a similar reason: The technology stack required to create one seamless experience is not there.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Cobra Kai Season 6 Is Sensei Kreese's Last Shot At Redemption

Cobra Kai Season 6 Is Sensei Kreese's Last Shot At Redemption

Usually, when a new season of Netfli'x Cobra Kai comes around, we already know who the villain is going to be. The series has done a masterful job of leaving a healthy amount of breadcrumbs at the end of each season to tee up the next antagonist. Season 6, the show's final, is different, though.

At the end of Season 5, good prevailed. The villains were defeated, and the San Fernando Valley was seemingly safe from nefarious karate practitioners who enjoyed punching and kicking their rivals. Seemingly, even Sensei Kreese (Martin Kove), who has been a thorn in Daniel LaRusso's side since the first Karate Kid film. So what happens now? That's the question GameSpot had when visiting the set of the show's final season.

"Where we are at the beginning of Season 6 is a unique place for Cobra Kai, co-creator Josh Heald explained to a small group of press. "The events of Season 5 kind of saw the end of all villainy, the end of the antagonists, the defeat of Terry Silver--Kreese notwithstanding. He's in the wind. But it's the first time and a long time--the first time since Season 1--that you're not beginning with the pot already on boil and multiple characters who need to crush each other or a deal of 'we'll see you at the tournament and we'll settle all scores there.' It's finally a moment of 'the air is clear.'"Continue Reading at GameSpot

The Prime Day discount puts the HTC Vive Pro 2 roughly on par with the Meta Quest 3, and while there are some drawbacks, overall, this is a powerful alternative to consider for your VR adventures. There's some powerful hardware inside of the HTC Vive Pro 2, as it offers 5K resolution split across two 2,448 x 2,448 lenses, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a 120-degree field of vision. The main drawback to this headset is that it's a tethered model when compared to the wireless design of the Quest 3 and setting it up can take some time, and the controllers are sold separately.HTC Vive Pro 2 headset

If you're fine with that--and you're probably already an advocate for VR gaming--then this headset easily offers a premium experience.
