Relic Entertainment released the latest developer diary video for its upcoming real-time strategy game Company of Heroes 3, this time focusing on the game's new destruction mechanics. While destructible environments have always been a hallmark of the Company of Heroes franchise, the system has been completely overhauled for this new iteration to allow players more control over those environments. Players can damage enemies with falling debris, create new means for cover, and open or close pathways using this new system. Marvel Strike Force Publisher Announces Kingdom Maker

The publisher behind Marvel Strike Force has released an original mobile 4X game called Kingdom Maker for iOS and Android devices. The game tasks players with managing and expanding a medieval city and all the issues that come with it. Alongside managing and customizing your own territory, players also make larger narrative decisions and smaller interpersonal decisions with your individual citizens. In terms of combat, Kingdom Maker is functionally an RTS that allows you to build cities and conquer territories. Your army is also customizable and you can coordinate with friends under a single alliance banner. Scopely is also emphasizing that the game is an "unconventional, cheeky medieval adventure" implying ithas a sens of humor not typically seen in historical medieval 4X games. Lollipop Chainsaw is coming back, and this time it's going to be handled by Dragami Games. CEO Yoshimi Yasuda announced this on Twitter. New Destiny 2 Patch Re-Enables Flawless Pools In Trials Of Osiris

We're a month into Destiny 2's latest season, the Season of the Haunted, which means that most of the dust from launch has probably settled. Appropriately, hotfix 4.1.0.3 is a small update with very few patch notes, but that doesn't mean it isn't packing a punch. Bungie is once again enabling the Flawless Pool and Flawless Pool loot after encountering an issue ahead of this past weekend's Trials of Osiris. They were disabled because Bungie found a problem where players were not being matchmade based on win count, meaning it could literally not pair up flawless teams. A lot of folks seem to prefer playing Trials this way and enjoyed this past Trials weekend, voicing that they're upset at Bungie issuing a fix and hoping it will reverse course. Bungie recently rolled out a rotator system for dungeons and raids that would help keep the live game a bit more…well, lively. To that end, Pinnacle gear, the highest tier of legendary weapons and armor that help players rise through the ranks, is only supposed to drop on whatever dungeon and raid was featured that week. However, in all its greed, the Grasp of Avarice dungeon was not playing by those rules until this week. And now Bethesda has confirmed that, unlike its last single-player RPG, the protagonist in Starfield will once again be silent. Bethesda confirmed that you'll be a silent protagonist on its official Twitter account. This is notable because Fallout 4, the last single-player RPG from Bethesda, broke new ground by having you play as a voiced character. Fallout 76 went back to the silent trend, though that was a large multiplayer RPG. Multiple reports now indicate Nintendo is still on schedule for June, only this year the Direct is coming later than usual, on June 29. The first trailer for the game dropped during the PC Gaming Show 2022, and it looks to borrow some of the great ideas from a similar spy murder fest: the excellent multiplayer of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The premise is that you work for a spy agency that takes on dangerous missions, like infiltrating an underwater hotel to steal a powerful weapon. Diablo 4 Beta Sign-Ups Now Available

You can now sign up for the Diablo IV beta on the game's official website. The webpage currently only has the beta listed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, although the game was announced to be coming to PS4 and Xbox One as well. You can pre-register on the Diablo IV website, with the option to do so at the bottom of the page. It does say that you can register for a chance to play, so signing up does not guarantee access to the beta. Blizzard has not announced when the Diablo IV betas will take place and the game currently does not have a release date, although a beta test suggests it may be closer than expected. Morbid Metal Is A Futuristic Roguelike Coming Soon To PC

Morbid Metal, the hack 'n' slash action roguelike game, is coming soon to PC. During the Future Games Showcase, fans were given a brand-new look at the title with a full-length gameplay trailer which features third-person action. In Morbid Metal, players will be able to shapeshift between four different "blade-wielding badasses" in real-time and take on futuristic enemy bosses in what looks to be arenas. Each character will have unique abilities and stylish attacks and the action is very reminiscent of Devil May Cry and Nier: Automata. There are also long-range elements which seem to feature a Bayonetta-esque slowdown mechanic. As the Steam description explains, with each enemy killed, and each level cleared, players will become stronger and unlock new upgrades to aid them in battle. But, as the game is a roguelike, once the player dies, all progress is gone. Forza Horizon 5's first expansion could be seeing the return of Hot Wheels, according to a leak. According to Forza Horizon 5's Steam page, the game's banner was briefly updated with a picture of the Hot Wheels expansion, as seen in the screenshot from Wario64 below. Netflix Gives Sneak Peek At Dragon Prince Season 4

As part of Netflix Geeked Week, the streaming service has released the opening credits of from Season 4 of The Dragon Prince. There's no release date yet for the next batch of episodes for the animated series that first kicked off in 2018. The Dragon Prince, a mix of Avatar and epic fantasy, is about "two human princes [who] forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands." The show is co-created and written by Aaron Ehasz (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Futurama) and Justin Richmond (director of the PlayStation title Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception). Dying Light Development Wraps After 7 Years With Definitive Edition Release

Active development on Dying Light will wrap up this week when Techland releases a definitive edition of the game on June 9. Originally released in 2015, Techland's open-world zombie apocalypse game was regularly updated with new content and events, even while development on Dying Light 2 continued. Dying Light: Definitive Edition will include the base game and 26 pieces of DLC, including skin bundles and expansion packs. It will be available digitally on all PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, with owners of the game's Platinum Edition being upgraded for free. Nintendo Switch owners can expect a digital and physical release at a later date. Kishi versus Kishi V2 As implied by the V2 in its name, the Kishi V2 is a follow-up to its 2020 Kishi mobile phone controller, which was a solid phone controller that GameSpot ranked highly on its list of the best mobile phone controllers. The follow-up makes a number of smart changes and improvements, as well as a few minor questionable changes. This biggest and most notable change is the addition of a full bridge. The bridge is the connective piece joining the left and right sides of the controller. The original Kishi used a foldable piece of rubber that allowed it to collapse into a portable square when not in use. It's looking even more likely iPhones will soon drop lightning cables, as all smartphones sold in the European Union will have to use USB-C ports by fall 2024. This will include Apple's iPhone and other electronic devices such as portable video game consoles, tablets, laptops, etc. According to The Verge, this legislation has been in the works for more than a decade, with both parties agreeing to make the change. The legislation will still need to be approved by both the European Union Parliament and Council later this year, though it seems very likely the law will pass. Netflix's Spanish-Language Slasher Killer Book Club Gets First Teaser

During Geeked Week Day 2, Netflix released a new trailer for The Criminal Book Club, its Spanish-language slasher adaptation of the novel by Carlos García Miranda. As of this writing, there is no announced release date for the film. Directed by Carlos Alonso-Ojea and with a script by Miranda, The Criminal Book Club stars Veki Velilla, Álvaro Mel, Priscilla Delgado, Iván Pellicer, Ane Rot, Carlos Alcaide, Hamza Zaidi and María Cerezuela. According to Netflix's caption text for the trailer, the "mysterious youngsters" will cross paths in their reading club with a "creepy clown." Battlefield 2042's massive 1.0.0 update arrives June 7, and developer DICE has now shared the full patch notes. The new update includes "hundreds" of changes, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements for the military shooter ahead of the start of Season 1, which is rumored to begin June 9. At a high level, some of the most notable changes include improvements to "soldier gameplay" that should mean smoother animations and movement overall. Additionally, DICE implemented changes to the netcode to improve bullet hit registration, while the studio also conducted a balance pass on weapons to allow for greater shotgun accuracy and increased projectile speeds for DMRs and LMGs. How To Get An Unsullied Heart And Greater Blood Essence In V Rising

During the mid-game portion of V Rising, you will come across a mission that requires you to upgrade your base with different items. At the heart of these missions is the item called the Greater Blood Essence, which, as the name implies, is a more advanced version of the standard Blood Essence. The standard form of Blood Essence powers the Castle Heart, which keeps your castle up and running. The greater version of it allows you to craft items such as the Servant's Coffin and higher-quality weapons and armor. However, in order to acquire the Greater Blood Essence, you need another material called an Unsullied Heart. As with most survival-crafting titles, there are certain items that are far more difficult to locate than others. The Unsullied Heart is one of those items. Players have been stumped trying to acquire the material at any point in V Rising. If you're looking to craft the Greater Blood Essence but need the Unsullied Heart, we try and help offer some ways to acquire it in the guide below. Getting the Unsullied Heart and Greater Blood Essence You might have already guessed that the Unsullied Heart is a rare item drop in V Rising. As of the time of writing, there's no clear way to acquire the heart. Some players have reported that enemies above level 18 have a greater chance of dropping them upon death but that hasn't been backed up by anything official. If this is indeed true, though, you might want to farm lower-level bosses, such as the Alpha Wolf or Keely the Frost Archer, if you want a chance at snagging an Unsullied Heart. While the Alpha Wolf has a recommended level of 16, players have reported getting the heart as a drop for beating it in Farbane Woods. The news comes via a Bloomberg report that suggests the move could be made as early as 2023 with that year's newest iPhone models. French eyewear specialist Jean-François Rey has teamed up with video game designer Hideo Kojima to produce a line of sunglasses inspired by Death Stranding. Four pieces from the collaboration have been announced, with the overall design being heavily inspired by the post-apocalyptic fashion of the Kojima Productions game. Fortnite's Shared Wallet Finally Comes To PlayStation

As of Fortnite update 20.40, PlayStation consoles will join Fortnite's Shared Wallet system, meaning any funds purchased on the PS4 or PS5 can be spent on other platforms, and vice versa. Once this update is live, the Nintendo Switch will be the only platform that doesn't support the Shared Wallet. How Fortnite handles V-Bucks in cross-platform play can be a little complicated--any V-Bucks that are earned through the Battle Pass or other gameplay are automatically shared between all platforms, while purchased V-Bucks can only be shared between platforms that support the Shared Wallet. The addition of the PS4 and PS5 to the Shared Wallet system will simplify this a little, meaning all funds can be shared between PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and cloud gaming platforms. Chainsaw Man Anime Coming To Crunchyroll, Intense First Trailer Arrives

If you're a fan of anime and also a fan of chainsaws, today is an important day for you. Crunchyroll has announced it has acquired the streaming rights to Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man, and in celebration with that announcement, there's a localized trailer for the show. The first trailer for the anime launched during the summer of 2021, but the video you'll see below is the first one in English.
