Aliens And Robots Can Play Lost Ark, But Only After They Take Over The Planet

Thanks to the success of Lost Ark, publisher Amazon Games' general terms of use have been recirculated, with players noticing one section in particular pertaining to how you must be a human, and not an AI (good or evil) to play the company's games. The terms also explain what would happen if aliens, robots, or simians take over the planet. Really. Section 5.1 of Amazon Games' general terms of use specifically mentions that, "You must be a live human (e.g., not a corporation, organization, artificial intelligence (good or evil), extraterrestrial, sentient non-human primate, etc.)." The terms also state that none of this applies if Earth has been taken or by robots, simians, or aliens. In that event, Amazon said these beings will be allowed to play Lost Ark and other games. "We welcome our alien, robots, ape, or other overlords, as applicable," Amazon said. In the event that Earth is overtaken, and it's decided that everyone moves to Mars--where Amazon's games are not currently offered--Amazon will try to offer its games on other planets or celestial bodies. Fortnite Uncharted Skins Include Video Game And Movie Versions Of Nathan Drake And Chloe Frazer

Nearly as soon as Epic began teasing an upcoming Uncharted collaboration by sending select content creators treasure maps, the community solved the riddle and revealed the Fortnite Uncharted skins we had been hearing about. If you were wondering whether the skins would be based on the Naughty Dog games or the new movie coming to theaters next week, your best guess is right no matter what. The cosmetics include alternate styles for Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer that capture both their game and movie likenesses. The Uncharted collaboration launches on February 17 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET, while a new in-game item, Drake's Map, will come to the game the following morning. Drake's Map acts like the Chapter 1 treasure maps some players might remember, leading players on a hunt for buried "treasure," which in Fortnite means excellent loot for your inventory. Because the game and movie likenesses for the heroes are different styles, not totally different skins, that means anyone who buys either version of either hero will instantly get access to both of them. Call of Duty: Warzone 2, the presumed name for a sequel to Call of Duty: Warzone, was announced official on Friday alongside the next mainline game in the series: Modern Warfare 2. The news broke on via social media in the early afternoon, primarily through streamers and other content creators alongside a small blog post from the development team. Activision later officially confirmed the news in a blog post. 2022's new Call of Duty game will be a sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, which has reportedly sold 30 million copies. This new game and the Warzone sequel have been "designed together from the ground up," Activision said. Both games run on the same brand-new engine, and Infinity Ward is leading the development on Modern Warfare 2 and the Warzone sequel. The setup The Horizon franchise plays out its grand narrative of tribal politics and robot dino-animal-things in the 31st century, in the wake of a cataclysmic robot-apocalypse that has wiped out the majority of humanity. Those who survived have formed tribes and are living their lives largely devoid of the technological advancements of their predecessors. Bungie Details New Exotic Armor Arriving In Destiny 2 The Witch Queen

Destiny 2's weapons and gear trailer last week gave a quick preview of upcoming Exotics in The Witch Queen expansion, but some items shown in the trailer weren't given a description. The This Week At Bungie post gives a deeper look at the Exotic armor and its perks for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans--each class will have two new Exotic armor pieces. Hunter Exotic armor The Hunter Exotic helmet, Blight Ranger Helm, comes with the perk Voltaic Mirror, which increases the amount of damage output when an attack is reflected by the Arcstrider's Arc Staff Super. This class is also getting the Renewal Grasps gauntlet which includes the Depths of Duskfield perk. The Stasis Duskfield grenades have a larger radius and reduce "incoming damage for allies within the Duskfield’s range." Warlock Exotic armor The Secant Filaments leg armor for Warlocks has a perk called Devouring Rift that buffs the Empowering Rift "allowing for damage from both allies and individual players the ability to disrupt foes," Bungie said. The Witch Queen ViDoc mentioned that this Exotic has a healing component as well. Warlocks are also getting new gauntlets called Osmiomancy Gauntlets with a perk called Fervid Coldsnap. Aya Neo Next Makes An Already Great Handheld Gaming PC Even Better

The Aya Neo Next, a powerful handheld gaming PC, starts its crowdfunding campaign on February 15. If you've been following the surging handheld PC market, you may have heard of the Aya Neo already. Earlier this year I reviewed the Aya Neo Pro, a device that reached Indiegogo backers' hands just several months back. Although the Aya Neo Pro was and still is quite impressive, I mentioned in my review that a revamped version of the Aya Neo was on the horizon. I've now had a chance to check out the Aya Neo Next ahead of its launch next month, and I can confidently say that if you're interested in the Aya Neo brand, the Next is the version to pick. The Aya Neo Next is more of an iteration on the existing Pro and 2021 models than a brand-new handheld. It still shares the same core DNA, as a Windows handheld PC with an AMD mobile processor and integrated Radeon Vega graphics. If you already have the Aya Neo Pro, upgrading to the Next probably doesn't make much sense. If the Next included a 6000 series processor--instead of the 5000 series--it might be a different story, but as it stands, the Next feels more like the definitive version of the company's initial move into the handheld PC gaming market. It may seem strange that a new Aya handheld is launching just several months after its predecessors, but if you think about it from a PC gaming perspective--where minor component upgrades release regularly--it makes sense. Cherrim Should Now Be Easier To Catch In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The first post-launch patch for Pokemon Legends: Arceus has arrived, bringing with it fixes for a number of glitches that have made life difficult for Arceus players. Chief among these: an issue where Cherrim would become uncatchable if it changed forms during a battle has now been fixed. Prior to the 1.0.2 patch, the cute little cherry Pokemon was proving almost impossible to catch, with players on Reddit saying they spent multiple hours on the attempt, with Cherrim breaking out of Ultra Balls even on 1HP. The game's Japanese support page acknowledged the bug prior to the new patch, saying that Cherrim couldn't be caught if it transformed even once during a battle. Other updates include a fix for an issue where, during offline play, the screen would freeze if players tried to pick up a lost satchel after throwing a ball containing a Pokemon. Revealed at today's Nintendo Direct, the upcoming Switch title is a remaster of the 1999 RPG Chrono Cross, complete with several quality of life changes such as the ability to skip battles and a newly refined soundtrack. In addition to Chrono Cross, the game also includes Radical Dreamers, a text-based adventure game that served as a supplemental title to Chrono Trigger and was originally released on Super Famicom. New World Valentine's Day Cosmetics Removed Following Server-Crashing Bug

Amazon Games' MMORPG New World is no stranger to game-breaking issues, but few could have expected seemingly innocuous Valentine's Day cosmetics to be the cause of a serious server-crashing bug. It was just a few hours after various Valentine's Day-themed cosmetics went on sale yesterday in New World that Amazon removed the cosmetics from the store, much to the confusion of players. As it turns out, the skins had a potential bug that could cause server crashes, though Amazon states that players who did manage to purchase the skins should still be able to use them. The cosmetics will return to the store once a fix has been found. The good news is that much of Lost Ark is only complicated at first glance. Spend some time with the game and its various systems and before long things will start to fall into place. Many of the different activities and much of the optional content can be safely ignored (or at least put off until reaching the endgame), meaning new players can simply pick their class of choice and quickly embark on the game's main story quest to find the titular lost ark. The next wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for January has seemingly been leaked. Posted on Reddit was a lineup of nine titles that are reportedly coming to the subscription service later this month, including some we know about--like The Hitman Trilogy and Rainbow Six Extraction--and others that are a total surprise. God of War's recent launch on PC is proving to be a big success right away, it seems. Sony's action game was the No. 1 best-seller on PC Steam by dollar sales last week, according to SteamDB. The game also had more than 73,000 peak concurrent players at its highest point, and the game remains massively popular. This is thousands higher than Horizon Zero Dawn's peak concurrent player record and factors bigger than Days Gone in terms of peak concurrent players. God of War for PC released on Steam and the Epic Games Store on January 14.
